next US film for him is "The Hulk" as Bruce Baner.

not really sure how that will be though.

Tess: i still saw the film and thought "hey! its Poida!"

*L*

He'll ALWAYS be Poida,dontya reckon?

It's good to see him make it.
Or at least be on his way.

It'll be interesting to see him as The Hulk.

Strangely, all the reviews i have read have been less than complimentary.

I'll take your word for it,Miles, and check it out.

Good movie, but I don't need to see it again. My head still hurts.

actually it was rather good and not the "chest pumping, lets-go-blow-shit-up" movie i thought it was going to be (i was not going to see it for that reason).

I saw it more as a "oops, we fucked up" film (no thats not why i enjoyed it).

Mental note, don;t eat a subway roll with meat balls in the cinema.... especially during the medical operation. :D

If you have not read the book yet go get it. Just to let you know it is not for the squimish even more so if you have an overactive imagination.

I haven't seen the movie yet it played in our school's theater for free this past week but I was stuck at work during the only showing.

it'll stick with me for a bit, as well.

I spew if i see a nosebleed.

This may not be the movie for me.

Scooby Doo is more my speed.

I have yet to see the movie, I did see a special on either TLC or Discovery where they did a complete background on what happened, complete with interviews with the survivors. It was intense to say the least. I have nothing but admiration for those brave men.

I am not sure what this says, but the guys i went to the movies with could not even remember Somalia peace keeping.

I saw the same show. I used some of the authors research for a paper on the powell doctrine last semester.

Rented this movie yesterday, watched it this morning.

Hardcore shit. Makes me appreciate our guys even more.

Got a bit watery-eyed in parts.

One word - intense.

One Word- Filter.

That's how they do it, they have that filter, makes everything look dirty and messes with the framerate and sharpness. Did it in Saving Private Ryan too.

Easy to do and produces great results.

i don't think it was that easy not the first time.

When spielberg did it in SPR it was like a new thing to pull out 20-30% of the color. Or it was an old idea that he brought back I forget the exactly. Now it is easy the first time it was not.

I do and don't want to see this movie. My baby brother is now a helicopter pilot for the army. So I think this movie would freak me out too much. Make me all worried about my brother.

Can't see it. I lost two friends in the fuck up in Iran. Somewhere else in the world, my unit was 14 kilometers from our objective when it was aborted to let another allied country take it. I wouldn't have mind, but we were in hostile country! It was a bitch to get back to the RP intact. I don't want to relieve my contempt for politicians being responsibile for good soldiers dying again.
I encourage everyone to watch it, we need that kind exposure to show how fragile a critical operation is.
*Peace through superior firepower!* :D

Somalia was not a completly political fuck up. The millitary had their share of fuck ups too.

There chain of command sucked. It was disorganized and not clear. Way too many people were between the guys on the ground and the commanders.

The delta guys did not trust the rangers and the rangers did not trust the regular army guys.

A large portion of the men in the taskforce had gotten complacent and had not brough proper gear on the raid. Many of them did not have extra water, night vision goggles, they left the ceramic plates out of their body armor, bayonetes and the list goes on and on.

Its only going to be a 30-45 min raid we don't need all that stuff. The somaliis have been a push over before we will be fine. Those were the last words of more then a few guys.

Excellent flick. I almost opted not to go the night I saw it, cause I was so tired I was affraid I'd fall asleep. Not a problem with this one, cause it kept me on the edge of my seat and very awake.

I recommend it.

Good movie...I was lucky enough to have caught it in the theater. Like a few have said before though, it is quite intense. I can certainly understand why a lot of people wouldn't want to see the movie. Those that understand wouldn't want to. Those that don't NEED to.

A rare few movies show war isn't glamerous. This is one of them.

I might not have been in the mood to see it at the time, but I honestly didn't like it that much. There were parts where I thought it was absolutely ridiculous. Everyone points out how realistic the movie was, but I'm continually drawn to three scenes.

First was the "glory grenade toss" scene that I can't help but find my jaw on the floor. Second was the horrendous use of cover by one of the "Rangers." I've been playing paintball for only so long and I know better than what that guy did. Third was a guy standing in the middle of two warring factions, quite carelessly.

I realize that I don't have the "real world experience" of being in the military, but oh well. I found Saving Private Ryan more believable. I just don't like finding myself in the middle of a movie that's touted as being the ultimate in realism screaming, "WHAT THE HELL!?@!#$?" Yes, with the added characters. I have an accent.

All in all, I thought it was decent and I'd give it a go again, because it's possible I wasn't in the right mood, but yeah. Consider also that I hated Crouching Tiger: Hidden Dragon the first time I saw it. Just watched it again tonight and it was far better.

The Boy is fickle.
