I was watching Legend just a few minutes ago and I realized where I got my fetish for goth girls from... from the scene where Lilly dances with the dress. Funny - I never realized it until now, but I guess that's what happens when you grow up watching a movie like that - over and over and over.

Have anybody else had an experience like this? Where they came across something that was common in their childhood and realized how it had influenced them?

Childhood attractions

Yes, now that you mention it, I realize something similar happened to me. While in my youth (well, younger) I had occasion to frequent a small restaurant which tended to hire very blonde waitresses who invariably found me cute -- now I have an affinity for such women...huh.

Lots of things from my childhood have influenced me in life now. Way too many to name though.

The most important one is my love of hobbies. I was unfortunate early in life by not having any kids my age around to play with because of where we lived. I made friends with some elderly ladies who taught me about stamp collecting, crochet, needle work, and other assorted crafts. I had a knack for creating things and they got company. Worked well for all concerned.

I've worn black lipstick. As part of my Halloween costume dressing up as a witch in all black with green skin and black hair, lips, eyebrows, fingernails.

That dress dancing all by its self until it becomes her…one of the coolest scenes ever!

Interesting how things become lodged within our heads…only on the sub conscience level.
A person can change due to a trauma all the while blacking the entire details of it out of their memory.

When the memory comes flashing back to us…we remember how complex our psyche’s truly are.
