Right about $50 a month here with the a/c... but then all our other appliances are gas and that's included in the rent, so....

Of course, here in PA, we have that fan-fucking-tastic Electrichoice program, so we get to "choose" our "Energy Supplier". Believe me, nothing in a man's life is more important than "choosing" the proper "Energy Supplier"...

Insert "Why I like Monopolies" rant HERE

haven't posted a comment in such a long time but here it goes. now that summers near, i got the pool open and the a/c blasting ( been very hot and humid), families nice and comfy and the start of a very high electric bill and i'm sick and tired of every summer the electric company raises their rates for "high demands", what bullshit? if i'm not prying to much in you people's bussiness, i would like to know if your electric bill compares to mine. mine runs anywhere between $250 and $300 a month during this season. thanks.

Ahh Canada the land of cheap electricity (and real beer) $95.72 Peak bill ... canadian ...a whopping $44.03 US! Sorry didn't mean to gloat. Power Companies here are for the most part publicly owned and their rates are pretty strictly controlled. Look forward to deregulation the bottom will drop out of your bill then. For now ...sorry.

Oh yeah? Oh yeah? My electric is VERY cheap!! We use fans to cool off (but today is actually pretty cool on it's own), and only pay $30 a month. Then the guy who lives upstairs from us pays $30 a month also, and if there's anything left over the landlord pays it. :)

I currently have my eliectric bill included in my rent, so I have no idea what the bill runs for this three year old one bedroom apt.

The four bedroom town house Apt I was in before moving here ran $90US a month on an 'Equal Pay Plan' That Apt was built in the early 1970's and was very inefficient.

My Daughter is in a four Bedroom Apt that's much newer and better insulated. Her Electric bill runs $40 something a month on the equal pay plan.

Being close to Hoover Dam is an advantage in electric bills, but being in a climate that averages 60 consecutive days of temps over 100F pretty much counteracts the cheap power.

The lesson to be learned from the desert? Insulate! You'll make the cost of new insulation back in about two years of savings.

Don't know about now but in the early 80's was paying between 1000 - 1200 for pool and a/c

I don't know where you are irontoto, but this is the cheap season for electricity in the Northeast. My bill for a 4 bedroom apt. is over $100 in winter, about $80-85 this time of year. We used to buy cheap power from Hydro-Quebec, but the local tree huggers won't let us anymore.

Irontoto, my bills aren't as high as yours, but I don't have a pool either. June thru October my electric bill runs $200 to $225, thank god my utility has budget billing which allows me to pay the same every month based on the previous years average (currently $154). If I ever even consider buying a 2-story all-electric house again, somebody please smack me with a stick!

For summer, my bill (gas and electric-2 bedroom apt.) is about $35-40. In winter, it's around $100-110. I'm not much for wearing clothes around the house so that explains the high heat and no A/C.
