Birthday Party for Young Son

We have ten attending this event tomorrow. A couple friends for big sister, the rest for young son.

We're taking everyone to the movies (The Mummy!) and then out to pizza later.

Kids are thrilled.

And it will be costly (this was planned before we found out we would be screwed over our health insurance - ahem) but I can't help but break it down in this manner -

10 kids to the movies - less than $50 with our credit union movie passes. We'll spring for popcorn, we're taking in drinks and snacks - not too bad.

After that, 10 kids eating pizza - around the same prize- inexpensive buffet and then some inexpensive arcade games. We'll do cake and presents in the restaurant after kids eat and play.

But not having to clean our house, not having to plan games, not having to worry about that aspect of this event?

Fucking priceless.

;)

(And young son is sooo excited! It's to wonderful to see.)

You are a cool mom...and practical too. Sounds like fun.

Tomorrow I'm not certain if daughter and her friends will go to the same movie with us but that's okay. Hubby and I plan to sit a few rows back from son and his group, let them get kind of wild.

Our kids are growing up so fast.

They'll do that alrighty. Seems like we just had a birthday party for our daughter with a pony ride as the main attraction...now our grandson's four and just had a party in June. :D

Sarahh, Just delivered my youngest to Wake Forrest today :D
She turned 20 on the 5th and starts her junior year on Monday
Wasn't I changing diapers only 6 or 8 years ago?

Know that feeling, empty nesting again. Both settled in college (again) only this time we know neither are planning on coming home next summer.

I'm very pleased with the outcome. We may plan other parties around this sort of theme in the future.

And the rum? It tastes divine.

:D

Sounds like y'all had a great time. Can't go wrong with movies, pizza and cake. :D

Would I like a drink? Sure. ;)

Glad it worked so well :D
Can't wait to see what the oldest does in a week :D
Her three are goint ot be 11, 8, and 7
The birthdays, in age order are Sept. 1, 2, 3
Only one was a C-Section

I have two immediate family members with birthdays September 30 and October 2, and I always thought that was a pain. This sort of thing I don't even dare imagine.

They have done it as one big party and also as 3 little ones
I thought it was bad with the 2nd and 3rd daughters being Aug. 7 and 5
Needless to say my son in law slept in a different room from mid Dec. to mid Jan. for a couple of years :D
Snip snip and it's all better now I hear.

My older brother and I are September 6th and 12th, but we only ever had one big birthday party. Other than that, birthdays were just a couple of presents and whatever that child wanted most for dinner. We just aren't a partying family.
