So...I turn twenty-five in a few days. I'm bad at celebrating things and need some help figuring out what to do.

For context... the last birthday I really celebrated was my eighteenth. I've not felt the need to celebrate much...but 25 seems a decent age to do something for.

Any suggestions?

As my signature makes pretty clear, I love dancing (specifically contra dancing). Were it me, I would go to the best dance i can find.

So the question is, what really lights you up. Sports, arts, theater, really good food? Pick and do it well. Depending on the thing do it with a bunch of friends or just one who shares your passion.

If you're into baseball, go to Houston and buy a scalped ticket. Do something that's memorable in a good way.

I went to Vegas on my 30th birthday. I didn’t drink or gamble. Lol. Vegas is great. Cheap to get there. Cheap to sleep. Expensive to do anything else.

Hmm

Scenario A

This is if you have no friends. Go out to a Humane Shelter and get yourself a cat. Get said cat and you a cake and share it along with your birthday.

Scenario B

If you do have "friends", let them decide.

Ideas:

Complete as many fun things you can do in one night.

1. Karaoke
2. Firing range with friends and make a wager on who comes closest to the target after emptying a couple clips
3. Dave and Buster's
4. Go to a salsa dancing class
5. Strip club...excuse me, now they call them "Gentlemen's clubs"
6. Take a pole dancing class...men do it and are in shape too...great place to meet women as well
7. Gambling casino nearby
8. Paintballing with friends
9. With a bunch of friends, go to a trampoline park...don't be afraid to try something new.
10. Host a potluck party where everyone brings a home cooked dish (possibly have weed to intensify the flavors)
11. Go to a day spa for a 2 hour massage
12. Donate your old clothes you don't wear anymore to a homeless shelter
13. Take an expensive sports car or your dream vehicle on a test drive (it's more fun when you get friends to do it with you)

These are off the top of my head. Mix and match any number of them you want to do.

You never did share what you did for your birthday. Could you? I'd like to know what you decided on.

Oh. Quite right. I was going to ask friends to the movies, but settled on visiting ny family's farm for a bit of a vacation...and to move lots of heavy things.
