Well, have always talked about it openly with anybody I have been with and none minded if that's even the right word. I cannot imagine it to be any other than a shared thing and I myself have never associated any of the methods there are with anything sexual as such. in terms of being turned on by the method itself or the fact that we would seek to prevent procreation. I am of course aware that various kinks evolve around impregnation or preventing it but in my case it's one of the few things I have never managed to fetishise about.

Would be interested to hear other perspectives as it's so alien to me.

I don't think I have ever been lied to about this one, nor have I actually taken the risk but as you say I do like the idea of taking the risk.

I was banging on the door of Planned Parenthood in Austin pretty much the day after I gave my first BJ. I knew my cherry wasn’t going to hold out much longer. (In fact, it stayed intact another 18 months.)

Reading all the posts above I guess I'm in the minority. I have always used a condom with the exception of 1 girlfriend (a married woman). It was me who insisted not her either. I would love to not use one but I didn't want to run the risk of her getting preg or me catching a std.
