Bill Maher.......

Demand, supply, cost, and price are interrelated. A change in one will bring changes in the others.

Any of those can cause a spike in asking prices but it won't change what THE price is, which is always what a willing, able, and ready buyer will pay.

You keep trying to justify your indefensible position that:

Businesses cannot raise their prices just because taxes or costs go up? What a load of horseshit.

(Oh, Breitbart )

If the demand for the good or service is sufficiently inelastic that an increase in price can be readily absorbed by the market, the price will have already been raised to maximize profits. More units at smaller margins or less units at higher margins. At some point on that continuum is maximum profit for a given item. Factored into that is what's called the substitution principle what else can the consumer buy in lieu of buying your product.

If they can bump their menu an extra $0.09 per item they would have already done it. They aren't just sitting on a potential $0.09 profit because it hasn't occurred to them to try a little higher menu prices. They've tried it it didn't work they moved it back to where it did work.

Having additional cost imposed upon a business no matter where that comes from whether it be the cost of supplies or government fees or taxes none of that changes how much a burger is actually worth to the consumer.

Increase the price, you will sell less. Because math.

The guy is a fucking idiot.

"You should wish for a recession because that would definitely get [Trump] unelected," Maher shot back, earning him a few claps from his Los Angeles studio audience.

"You don't really want a recession," Scaramucci tried to convince Maher.

"I really do," the host replied. "We have survived many recessions, we can't survive another Donald Trump term."

Last week, Maher had revived his stance that a recession would be "worth it" because it would hurt Trump's reelection.

Because he's Canadian and rich, it wouldn't affect him.

Selfish fuck

Why pay any attention to him?

He says these things in order to remain relevant to the energy of the hard Left.

It's how he maintains ratings. JaF0 here employs the same device;
say really crazy things about Trump in order to garner attention.

Yea, Maher be a crazy, stupid MF looking for attention for sure, completely unlike Tucker Carlson, Roger Stone, Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, Steve Bannon, The president, et al.

Jeebus, you know shit about how things work. I wanna say you were less stupid as Que but no, no you weren't.

Uh, you're full of it.

Tariff charges have been added to all invoices for every purchase we've made out of China. From chairs to lighting to whatever. Depending on the size of the order it can get quite expensive. And it is being passed on to the buyer.

It's like you're speaking about things you have no knowledge or experience of. And instead chose to pivot to some obscure point to try to cover your ignorance.

So, do you believe tariff against China are a bad thing?

Money to the treasury is only a social benefit if you take it out of people's paychecks? What does it matter where the money comes from?

He just explained to you how this is still not a tax on consumer. The consumer can buy from a source not subjectbtintarrif or not buy the product st all. It's a way of nudging consumers to domestic producers.

Exactly right!!! Tax= mo money i don't got
Tariff= option to buy from somebody else

He tried claiming, contrary to decades old talking points, that it was not passed on to the consumer. It is. And as such, does act like a tax. One that you guys are now defending. Vociferously.

Too bad so much US manufacturing has gone abroad. It would be so easy then. Right?

Unfair labor practice is one reason why businesses go abroad. Tariffs level the playing field and promote domestic manufacturing.

Doesn’t always happen like that, but the main goal is to drive some of the manufacturing out of China. It’s working to some degree. The bottom line is when it goes full on with other countries pulling out as well, China is going to have a high unemployment rate that will burden the communist government there. Will it lead to social unrest and lead to change? Time will tell.

Yeah the left went nuts when he challenged a leftist to prove the existence of White Supremacy in the United States and called it a hoax and rightly so. The existence of a handful of such people is not proof they run the country or make policy. FOX management basically told them to get fucked when they demanded his firing.

That post is really making me laugh, since you are the guy who wanted us all to believe the the "New Black Panthers" was a reality.

Please detail which companies are having success and why.

Five of the last seven presidents who lost their reelection campaigns had recessions occur within the two years leading up to Election Day, according to LPL Financial Senior Market Strategist Ryan Detrick. Meanwhile, presidents are 11 for 11 in winning reelection if they manage to keep the U.S. economy out of recession in the last half of their first term.
