Bikini Wax--help??

OK--I have never done anything more than trim....but I was thinking about maybe trying a bikini wax. Not the stripper total landing strip thing, I was thinking of something a little more "natural" looking, just a little more cleaned up. What I want to know is does it really hurt a lot, is it something I can do myself, (FYI I have epilated legs, underarms) and waxed, or is this something I should only have a professional do.

Oh and what the heck do I ask the salon for?

Thanks for the info!

I think at the salon a full wax is a "brazilian wax" I don't know if there will be any hair left after this. I have tried to wax myself, but I botched it so I just shaved it all. A bikini wax doesn't hurt more than underarms though. I was bruised for a week after that one.

IMHO

I've gotten a bikini wx, not a Brazilian (which is EVERYTHING back to front), but just a bit off the sides and the inside of my thighs. Just as a clean up. Mind you, this is just starting off. I may work up the guts to go the full Brazilian, but y' never know.

As for the "hurt factor," I think it's the anticipation of the pain. Honestly for me, it only stings a bit....can't think of an analogy that describes it. I personally would not give myself a wax, am too afraid of burning the tender bits :) My waxer (? proper word?) is a wonderful woman who put me at ease. An AWESOME thing about it is that when the hair grows in, it's very soft and it takes about 3-6 weeks before you need to re-wax, no itchy stubble.

To get prices and such, I simply called salons and asked if they do bikini waxing. I go to the salon where my hair dresser works and my lady only charges my $25.00 and I'm in & out in about 30 mins give or take.

If you want more, blip me a PM. :)
