Biggest age difference?

What I do need is understanding, patience, caring, consideration, respect, and willingness to share life. And--from my experience--younger guys are just not able to offer those things very well. Older men just seem to have a greater appreciation for life, love, and women. Plus they are so much better in bed. ;)

Lonely,
That is all anyone can ask of a partner.

I posted this yesterday on another thread. It's a poem/philosophical dissertation on life and human connections. I use it as a guide in my relationships, both romantic and with my true male friends.... May this help.

The Invitation
by Oriah Mountain Dreamer
It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.

It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life's betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain! I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it, or fix it.

I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own, if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic, to remember the limitations of being human.

It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself; if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul; if you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.

I want to know if you can see beauty even when it's not pretty, every day, and if you can source your own life from its presence.

I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, "Yes!"

It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up, after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children.

It doesn't interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.

It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you, from the inside, when all else falls away.

I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.

Lonely, may you not be for long :rose:

I'm off to bed. (Alone tonight too.)

Oh the physical aspects can be quite stimulating but you are correct, the experiences that touch me most deeply are those that deal with more than just my flesh. Men who can touch my funny bone and my mind are in like Flynn ;)
MMMMMMmmmmmm Fluffer. I ache to touch your funny bone.........ummmm.....oh yeah, and your mind too! :nana:

A take-off from the "Do you like older men" thread ... thanks to Shamefull_susan

What is the biggest age difference in someone you've been with?

I've dated men well over 20 years my senior.

13 years first time I had been with someone older than me..not bad but iIstill like me older than my man :D

Largest age difference older was 16 years. Largest younger was 7 years. (My current b/f is 15 years older than me.)

She is 29...I am 54...and the difference isn't important at all...Peter Pan is my hero... ;)

I was 21, he was 36 ....... I've always been attracted to older men.

I went out with an 18 year old girl last month, so 7 years is the biggest age difference for me.

Ahhh to be 36 or even 42 again......but you know what? I've always done the best with what I have......and no complaints so far!

Great thread so far, and I am amazed at some of the age differences. Thank goodness, all of you have not let society and it's "norms" decide who you were going to date and whether or not you were happy. I agree with MrFantasyMan....Peter Pan is my hero too. Although I am more inclined to go with the adage that you are only as old as you feel....I am only as old as I act.

I'm sure you're more than capable of keeping any girl enthralled!

For me it was a difference of 13 years; He was 28 and I was 15 (although he didn't know it! I fibbed and said i was 18!)
But it was great fun, and only the second guy i had ever been with.........oh, those were the days!! :)

I heartily agree. One is only as old as they feel/act. And it dovetails nicely with something my husband has helped me to realize which is that the sexiest thing about a woman is ... her confidence.

Fluffer...when you KNOW you've got it....and then you flaunt it...can there be anything more erotic?

He was 21 and I was 35. I never get tired of saying that I was his birthday present :)

I generally prefer men younger than me.
