This notice was posted to inform the friends of my brother Don, of his recent fatal illness. I do apologize for such a short and confusing message.

In February of this year Don developed clots in his leg. Some of the clots broke apart and caused pulmonary embolisms in his lungs. This was treated and he was doing well.

Further tests to find out why he had the leg clots showed that he had a pre-cancerous mass in his colon. This mass was surgically removed in June. Again he seemed to be doing well.

Towards the end of September he complained of leg pain and swelling. He was diagnosed with a large clot that needed to be surgically removed.

The day after his surgery his kidney function began to decline and other organs began to fail. He passed away on the 7th.

He asked me to ensure that his friends on this site were made aware of his passing. Again I apologize for any confusion my initial notice may have caused.

I had a chance to look back over some of the posts in this thread and I could see how much he enjoyed being here. I know he'll miss being here.

I knew him fairly well and he was the sweetest and kindest man. I will miss him terribly.

I wish his family well and peace in this difficult time.
