Trump's good contribution to that (outweighed by a whole shitload of bad things he did) was to contract for the production of vaccines before they were approved. Trump did absolutely nothing. So let us review, what exactly Trump did for the vaccine, shall we?

Did he formulate it?

No he did not, it was built on ( Phizer and Moderna) work from both SARS and MERS vaccine research that had been going on for over a decade.

Did he build any manufacturing facilities?

No he did not.

Did he use financial resources to help companies develop vaccines?

Yes he did, but both Phizer ( the first out the door) and Moderna ( the second out the door) were not signatories and took no direct money from OWS. OWS also did not speed up the FDA approval process of potential vaccines.

Did Trump pre-purchase vaccine prior to it being tested and ready for use on the general public?

Yes he did, he pre-purchased 100 million doses from Phizer , but when exactly Phizer received that money is not clear. He also turned down another 100 million doses in Sept of 2020, when Phizer offered them. If he had accepted, the US would have had enough vaccine in December of 2020 to vaccinate 100 million citizens.

Did Trump set up the logistics to roll out vaccinations?

Yes, and No. While Trump did get some action plans set up, they revolved around the most devastatingly hit locations. Senior Citizens living in facilities. Plans for state wide rollouts, were pretty much handed off from Trump to the States to set up their own delivery systems.

The first shipments of Phizer were received on Dec 15th, by Jan 21, not all of those original doses received had been administered.

Did Trump use the bully pulpit to promote the dangers of COVID-19 to build up inertia to convince people to actually take the vaccine?

No he did not, in fact he argued the exact opposite, which has lead to hesitancy in many state's populations to back away from getting any of the vaccines.

So while Trump did take some of the basic steps, for the most part his errors and miss steps will always over shadow some of the correct moves he did make.

Can he actually take full credit for roll out now on going?

From my perspective, I'd say no. Given he is no longer in power, all anyone can do is speculate if Trump would have been as successful as Biden's administration has been up to this point.
