I'm definitely bi, though I've often said I'm a lesbian who just happened to fall in love with a man and choose a hetero lifestyle. I'm finding that as I get older, it gets more difficult to hide the truth from friends and family. I'm "out" to pretty much everyone but family these days. Fortunately, husband knows my orientation and is ok with it, though I think it's because he has the typical hetero male fantasies.

I could have fallen in love just as easily with a woman. I used to tell my husband that if only he were a woman, we would have the perfect relationship, but unfortunately, he would make half the salary that he does.

That's exactly why some people would call me bisexual. Because I refuse to close my mind to the possibility of falling in love with a man. If I found someone that I loved and was emotionally happy with and we were perfect for each other, I wouldn't say no just because there was a penis involved. Now, it's not likely that that would happen, because I'm emotionally more comfortable with women...but it could, so society would like to think of me as bisexual, even though I identify as a dyke.
