It's a close race for Texas and kinda interesting cuz of it but otherwise just another senate race that won't affect my life much. I got one of those door to door pollsters a couple days ago. I think that was the first time ever but then I rarely answer the door so maybe not the first.
Anyway, it was all "did you know..." and "were you aware..." which are two phrases I absolutely hate because they are always delivered with a condescending tone and assume the person being talked to is a total idiot.

Why should they?

Employment is a private issue in a free country, as long as it's all voluntary and nobodies rights are being violated it's not the governments fuckin' bidnizz.

Yep. If two people agree to an economic relationship involving work and both agree, the government should have no say into who gets paid what. since force is not a factor.

Authoritarian leftist have a very hard time with that concept so they tend to think EVERYONE wants the same totalitarian god state wiping everyones ass for them, which is understandable.

What I don't get is how highly offended they get whenever they run into people who would rather be free to make their own choices.
