TEPES, his family and his advisor GREGOR are assassinated, but a sympathizer amongst the ELDERS saves TEPES’s and GREGOR’s remains and spirits away GREGOR’s human bastard, a baby a girl he names ADELE.
1497. ADELE is raised in a Paris orphanage and then a fashionable bordello. At 21 she is initiated as a Vampyre by ELIZABET a business colleague of the Elder traitor. We learn that ELIZABET has double-crossed the ELDER by initiating ADELE, and ADELE’s blood has a strange effect on anyone who drinks it. ELIZABET is TEPES’s Mother, and a Succubus.
2020. ADELE meets up with an old friend, COUNTESS MONIQUE DUBOIS an aristocratic vampire, at a high society Vampyre wedding in Paris. We begin an insight into the Countesses life, her circle of friends and ADELE.
