Beta reader wanted

Hi, I'm Gina.

I've recently become very busy and I no longer have time review over my stories myself.

Specifically, I need someone to read over the next few bits of my story and critique it. I would also welcome suggestions to move the plot along - I tend to get stuck at certain points.

Also, I tend to miss minor spelling and punctuation errors.

It would very much help if you are familiar with the series thus far - I would give you credit for any ideas used, of course.

Maybe I'm completely off-base here, and if I am I am sure I'll be spanked for it. But so be it.

You are looking for a beta reader because you're too busy to give the story the attention it deserves. Peck/type/text out something quick and pass it off. This may not be the intended intention, but this is my interpretation.

I'm not sure about the others, but I coddle my stories like a baby. I don't take them out in the cold, I treat them like a living thing... okay, not quite. But I do take pride in what I write and would not pass it off as "nothing".

Okay, well, I am sure I will be punished for this <bracing>. As the Beatles sang, "Let It Be".

Be that as it may, I have a real baby to coddle, presently. The little time I do have to myself, I relax by adding to my story - bit by bit.

So, yes, I'm in the market for some help.

Just my thought. Very protective. I am so close to offering but I don't know length in words, etc.

My chapters usually run 5000-8000 words. Sometimes a bit more or less. I also skip ahead and write scenes that I want to happen later.

Also, I've written an erotic scene - my first one - and before I add it in, I want some feedback on it. So far, my writing style has been well-received but I guess I'm a little hesitant on posting the actual sexual scenes.

It's an attempt at a novel and it's a bit slow-starting. Those who have stuck with it, however, have been very honest with their critiquing.

This is what I'm after. I won't be able to improve on my writing unless I receive constructive criticism. And I'm certain that there are much better writers out there than I with valuable advice.

I would definitely be a Beta-reader for you. :-D
I actually read your work before and quite liked it. I was a bit disappointed when you didn't continue. So I'm more than willing to help out. I know what it's like to have a baby, it can be hard to get into a new routine, but I think you've done really well - your writing is still really focussed and high quality.

I've continued, but the updates have slowed down significantly. It just takes me ages to go back over each paragraph and polish it up.

Thank you for responding and offering your services. I am currently working on Chapter 07, but it's still rather rough.
