Im looking a beta reader/editor for my stories. My stories are Gay Romance and they are on the longer side with alot of detail. I already have two chapters writen and uploaded on the site. I have a beta reader now but she is going through a tough personal time and I'm not going to bother her at this time. If you are interested please read my first two chapters I have now and let me know. Chapter 3 is pretty much done and is just waiting for another pair of eyes to view it. Thanks for your time.

Please ensure you have switched on your Private Messages. Go to User CP (top left of this page), click on Edit Options (in the left hand column), and then tick Enable Private Messaging in the second box down. Make sure that the next box down (Receive Private Messages only from Buddies and Moderators) is NOT ticked. Finally click Save Changes at the bottom of that page.

Unless you've had an editor work on it (if so, not quite enough), I think your story is fine to post without much (or any) help. The mistakes are minor and don't intrude in the read. It's a pity that three of your characters' names start with "J." That's unnecessarily confusing. I also don't think the notes at the front of chapters serve the story well--they are apologetic when you don't really need to apologize for anything as long as you're posting to the Gay Male category and use appropriate keywords.

It moves slowly, but you have comments that your readers like that. I wouldn't be interested in it, though, until/unless the whole story was completed and I could see that it was a focused story with a point to it. I think open-ended chaptered stories still being written after they begin to post tend to be too verbose and rambling and don't develop a good, tight story arc--and quite often are never finished. I wouldn't want to invest time and effort in something that wasn't going to finish--and sometime this year and of reasonable novel length.
