Bestiality or just bad dogs?

The latest twist in that dog mauling case in San Francisco. According to ABCNews.com, Knoller and Noel wrote several letters and "The documents also include a letter, described as being written by either Knoller or Noel, discussing sexual activity between the couple and the male dog, Bane.

Investigators were looking into the possibility that sexual abuse of the animals may have spurred the attack on Whipple, a 33-year-old lacrosse coach.

Neither Knoller nor Noel has been charged with sexual assault on the animals."

An article in the San Francisco Chronicle noted that a Judge released to warrants to search the cell of a pair of inmates of a Pelican Bay Prison due to some things turned up in the search of Knoller and Noel's apartment. "The warrant also says prosecutors were investigating whether the couple was having sex with dogs. Prosecutors declined comment on whether bestiality is relevant to the Whipple investigation. However, sex acts with animals are misdemeanors in California.

The search warrant seeks any materials or correspondence describing sexual acts by Noel or Knoller that involve dogs.''

Matier and Ross, also of the San Francisco Chronicle were able to speak with Robert Noel. "And what do Noel and Knoller say about the photos?

"I'm not going to confirm it or deny it," Noel told us earlier this week.

Noel then said, "There used to be a time when guy-on-guy or woman-on-woman relationships were looked at as unnatural acts. What concern is it to anybody if there is or isn't a personal relationship?""

The questions are these:

If the sex between the dogs and Noel and Knoller really did happen, do you think it had anything to do with the attack?
Do you think dogs can be sexually traumatized?

It sounds like to me ...

that whole situation was just way out of control!

A young woman was brutally killed by these animals. What difference would it make if the dogs were previously used for bestiality? Is there some inference that if the dogs were used this way that the dogs were justifiably vicious? Or, is this bestiality possibility investigated to magnify the depravity of the owners?

I recall reading somewhere that the owners/trainers were also involved in skinhead activities.

Not your normal, everyday neighbors.

From what I've read of that case, those two dogs were trained to be very aggressive and mean. I think that the dog would have attacked that woman regardless of sexual misconduct. One could argue that the female owner of the dog sexually molested the dog to the point that it just went off on the next woman that passed by, but dogs know the difference between people, this person was a stranger, not the person who'd abused it.

Since we can't really communicate with dogs, we'll never know if one can be sexually traumatized. To the best of my knowledge, dogs don't have sex for pleasure, so they may just think that they're spreading their seed. Who knows.

Gross! Yech! uuuuuuu KM......

Bestiality and bad dogs! I am gonna have nightmares tonight!

No, otherwise every dog that's ever been "fixed" would be a killer.

How much more sexually traumatized can you get than having your nads off?

I agree with DulceCrema, whether beastiality was on the menu of the day in that house or not, that had nothing to dowith what happened. The dog had been raised to be vicious and mean and the owners were not the people who payed the price for it, the poor victim was. One of our neighbors used to keep a pit bull when I was a kid. They had that poor dog chained to a tree at all times of the year, even up here in cold Connecticut. They also beat and kicked the dog all the time. Over time the dog had chewed through the bark and wood of the tree a trench that was about 10 inches thick. One day when the dog got loose, I had the misfortune to be playing at a house close to there. The dog attacked two of us. I lost half of a calf muscle to that dog. Other people I know have had Pit bulls that were nice enough dogs , so it goes to show you how much training has to do with temperment. Chewey

Yes! I do believe a dog can be sexually traumatized!

Yes! I do believe that dogs are people!

Yes! I do believe that there are times and circumstances where dogs should be "put to sleep."

Animals have feelings. Animals have brains. Animals experience pain. Animals can be traumatized.

I don't know anything about the case but I'd say it could be relevant. Think of it this way, if they can prove the dogs were sexually abused and that had a bearing on the attack. Then maybe they can get the owners of the dogs to be convicted of a higher criminal degree for the death.

Just a thought.

Frankly, does it matter whether there was any sexual abuse going on, except to add more charges to the owner's incarciration? A well trained dog does not attack people, period. Obviously this couple had no business owning these dogs.

Sometimes I think people ought to have to get a license to own a potentially dangerous animal before they can own one.

I suppose a dog could be sexually traumatized, as I know they can be traumatized if they've been abused.

But I don't think a misdemeanor of beastiality would make a lot of difference with an already 2nd degree murder, and a manslaugher conviction. Sensationalizes the story, but that's about all, IMHO.

relevant because

I really had a strong feeling of this...I actually had a hunch that there was hanky-panky going on with the dogs LONG before I learned of these allegations from your post here but minutes ago.

It is VERY VERY relevant because it shows their lack of discipline and misconduct and total disregard to other people's safety. As soon as she let's that dog fuck her she is no longer considered his master in its eyes, but a mere bitch. Allowing it to do her is an act of submission in it's eyes and thus forfeiting her commanding role to give it orders and lead. It attacked people not because it was tramautised but because once she gave away her status as master by letting it do her, it became the "pack leader" in its mind thus allowing it to do whatever the hell it wanted to without responsibility to a higher authority. It was trained to be a guard dog, thus in other words, to fight and attack. Once it considers iself the Alpha male of that screwed-up family there was no way they could teach it to behave any longer because the owners are now followers to it, not it's pack leaders anymore.

very well said Firmost
