Best thing ever - me at my uncle's chalet in Maine for a week in early October with a pile of books and magazines, hiking plans. some dinners out and some booze for those nights when I light the wood burning stove. Ahhhhhh.

there is a place in maine called cabbage island...i'm going to check out some day...take a ferry to this island and have a huge clam bake....

It's a great place to visit! Oct is a good month to leaf peep. Farther north you go the earlier you'll want to visit

Yes, very much so. First wife was really into it but second said no way no how. I do miss it sometimes, especially since i've learned more.

When you are cold, wet and miserable, getting a nice hot shower and warm clothes is the best feeling.

Experienced it many times in the field when I was in the army.

Last Saturday, it was pouring out, and my wife and I had to finish up some jobs for her customers and then we went to our farm since we were soaked anyway and worked till almost 5pm. Ordered some takeout, took the nicest hot shower and got into sweats and warm long sleeve shirt and it felt amazing.
