That is one of the many reasons I like it. A little like that Cole Porter line - 'How strange, the change, from major to minor, Every time you say goodbye.' The violins in the background are making that exact change as the line is sung.This song may be the greatest song ever written, in my opinion. I mean, it's a song about sex, so there you go. I do dislike the original version a lot though.
But the lines n the first verse:
"It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth, the minor fall and the major lift..."
This is one of the most brilliant things I've ever seen written as, musically, it actually follows those words. That's such an ingenious bit of writing, in my mind.
I love this thread.
