Seriously. I am a reasonably intelligent person with at least some common sense. I cannot, however, figure out how to maintain an entirely hair free bikini line, and avoid itching, ingrown hairs, etc. I know it's a funny subject. Waxing is no good. It has to grow out fairly long to be waxed. No thanks!

Do I shave every day? Are there creams, magic pills or a product that would help soothe and keep things smoother?

I assume there are some people out there with good advice on the subject.

(laughing at myself)

My skin simply can't handle frequent shaving. So, I don't do it frequently. I pretty much only shave once a week, tops. It's been convinient that I've had a long-distance relationship for a while, because I'd just wait to shave until I was going to see him.

The itching was horrible the first few times I shaved, but eventually I got used to it or something, and it just stopped being as annoying. I use exfoliating soap after shaving, and in the days afterwards, and that seemed to help a bit with the irritation.

Best of luck to you.

Thanks ravenous. Didn't even think to check archives..duh! Magic shave sounds okay if your test patch goes well.

I use Magic shave and it works very well for me, though I understand others have mild to severe burning with it. Please do a test patch on the inside of your elbow to check!! My husband also used it when he had to shave for his vasectomy and the doc was very impressed at how smooth things turned out and made a note to suggest the product to others as an alternative to razors.

The local walmart has it for less than $1.50, so it's a cheap way to test as well.

I used to use a mans electric razor, but it only lasted a couple of days.

I hate it when it grows long so I would keep it trimmed very close and then shave.

I found wet shaving was too complex, I cut myself and could not see all the hairs without getting into some odd difficult positions.

WE don't have magic cream in the UK, some yrs ago I used a cream.
I got it on my clit, I swear I thought I had burnt it off. The pain was incredible and put me off for life.

Two weeks ago I had my first ever wax at the age of 39.
I wish I had been doing that forever, I know the hair has to grow a little but it beats everything else I have tried
