Not to interrupt on everyones WQ hate, political stupidity, economic unawareness, or the general guy on guy love with Kyle and Iman.

But what is the best weekend getaway to get it on in your neck of the woods....
Great bed and breakfasts, not a lot of tourist, parks, bookstores, wine, and bedrooms.....

Hawaii: Island of Lanai
Georgia: Savanah....but not on St. Patrick's weekend
Florida: Captiva or Sanibel Island
Arizona: Sedona
Cali: Monterey Bay or Napa
Utah: Park City

Americans like this one:

This place might have been built for smoochy trysts: mobile-phone reception falters and dies on its doorstep, there's a wood-fired hot tub made for two hidden in the sprawling grounds overlooking the river, massages are performed in the bedrooms, and balmy summer evenings encourage skinny-dipping in the nearby lake. The eight rooms are cozily romantic, with patchwork rugs, mismatched cushions and log-cabin walls . . . If you can tear yourself away from the lodge, the setting--in the Southern Nova Scotia Biosphere Reserve--ensures swathes of wilderness all to yourselves.

Are you saying it sucks?

No, I'm saying American tourists love it.

My cottage has all of what that place offers, with more privacy of course, so for me it's not a destination of choice.

But much of the GB is American, and many would probably love it, so I provided the link.

And it probably is one of the best romantic destinations on this corner of the map.

Capiche?

I guess the Poconos, even though no young couples have vacationed there since 1960.

Ha! I went there in the late 90's. Even stayed in one of those rooms with a Champaign glass hot tub going up to the second floor, indoor pool and Sauna...the works....

I slept under the stars for 15 of 21 nights, the last time I was to the Grand Canyon. Better than any inn, anywhere.

It is a cool place, but also one of those places that once you have been there and done that there is no need to go back.....

The army has a training center in the middle of the Mohave desert, NTC.

Temps go from 120 to 60 in an hour and you would think you are freezing to death. But the stars are fucking outstanding...you can actually track satellites moving across the sky.

Bet it was beautiful!

Bet it was beautiful!

As beautiful as being in the desert for 20 days straight, eating shit, humping 100 pounds, no pussy, no showers, and a few hours of sleep can be......

Oh...and being assigned to a Australian infantry unit as their instructor.....They do not take instructions well.....

well, yeah, other than all of that, I bet it was beautiful...:D

(was really talking about the stars at night)...

So it's weird that spending a weekend in the Poconos is on my wish list? :(

Nah, it's just old timey. The Poconos are real Americana, like South of the Border.

Have you seen the latest Catfish? It's the best one yet.

I think I just need a quick break from city life. I miss the mountains.

Please tell me the Poconos are less disappointing than South of the Border.

Yes. Rose has some serious issues.
