Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders announced for president. Every dumb-assed Republican that announced made the news. Did you even know he announced?

Nope - because you need your art spoon fed to you!

00:09:32 No, it was worse!
00:09:34 A guy sleeping for 7 hours! - There was no political content!
00:09:38 You need your art spoon-fed to you!
00:09:43 Right on, man! Let's ask the filmmaker what he thinks.
00:09:47 Mr. Morrison?

I quit.

Even he doesn't have much chance, his announcement was widely reported, although not as widely as that of Hillary. https://www.google.com/search?sourc...j0l2j0i3j0.0.0.0.5617...........0.lxNyf1nsm1M

I agree with George Will: The next president isn't one of the known candidates.

I LOVE BERNIE SANDERS! I'm planning on traveling to Vermont for the kickoff rally.

I know he doesn't have much of a chance but at least people will get a chance to hear his ideas.

Yes, I heard about it on Fox;)

Someone catch me up on this guy.

If there's someone other than Hilary, please...hook me up.

It was a busy news day, with all the networks on burning-drug-store alert.

But you're correct, his announcement didn't get as much attention as Cruz's or Rubio's or Paul's. In part that's because the political media are checked out of the Democratic race, and in part it's because he's a SOCIALIST! and thus deemed to be outside polite company, never mind that literally all the announced GOP candidates are farther to the right than Sanders is to the left.

He's got enough of a following to be able to keep Hillary from simply cruising to the nomination in lame centrist mode. I do think, though, that in order to get the Democratic nomination, you kinda have to be in the Democratic Party, which Sanders isn't.

He's a progressive Liberal who has attainable ideas of how we can improve the economic inequality that is so damaging to the majority of people in this country. He also has a very strong opinion on Citizens United.

When he speaks, he does so with passion and sincerity. I find him inspiring and refreshing. I don't feel like I'm hearing from another blowhard politician. He's the real deal!!

He can get the nomination if enough people vote for him (unlikely). He's running as a democrat.

Then I'm excited.

I was seriously considering the possibility that I might not actually have the will to vote this next election.

Hey, thanks for explaining that to me!

I don't think it's insignificant that Sanders has no ties to the Democratic Party other than caucusing with them during his time in Congress, because it raises the concern that he might mount a third party run if (or really "when") he happens to lose the nomination. And it's hard to see him making the obligatory endorsement of Hillary (unless she goes a whole lot farther to the left than anyone sees happening), because he's not beholden to the party in any way.

I don't think he will; everybody remembers what happened when Nader tried that in 2000.

Yeah, but Nader was not that inspiring. It could be done.

I could be brought to actually vote for a third party, even if I haven't so far.

please do:)

I haven't before. I'm not big on throwing my vote away, but I genuinely do not like any of the candidates I have seen so far, so I'd prefer to cast a vote for someone I believe in.

I'm in New Jersey and we're usually not a swing state in any way, my vote won't count for much.

At least I'm more interested in the process now.
