“The last thing this country needs is a Donald Trump or some other right-wing demagogue who is going to try to undermine American democracy or take away a woman’s right to choose, or not address the crisis of gun violence, or racism, sexism or homophobia,” Sanders told The Associated Press in an interview. “So I’m in to do what I can to make sure that the president is reelected.”
“I think Joe Biden will be the Democratic nominee. And my job, and I think the progressive movement’s job, is to make certain that he stands up and fights for the working class of this country and does not take anything for granted.”
he's forgoing a third bid himself in order to protect and build on what the current administration has achieved so far. BY removing himself from the frame, and publicly supporting President Biden's bid whilst strongly stating the role he and other activists need to play in the future of the Democratic Party, he's doing a great service imo.

President Biden actually listens to his advisors, and his advisors are skilled, educated, and most often well-experienced. He clearly views the presidency as serving the people of America, protecting them from the threats that life under trump offers. If trump does get the nod, then dems need to be solidly behind one candidate in order to defeat trump with a more resounding vote than his record-breaking win before. Only when people vote loudly enough to produce strong showings in the senate and house seats can things progress in the direction most dems want to see.

That is inspiring. I almost want to vote for Trump again.

How very kind of him.
he doesn't have the support now, same as before... but every vote counts and he's putting the country before his own political aspirations, this early on, and encouraging others to think and not fracture the vote. I love me some Bernie, and would even be happy to see him as Biden's running mate.

I like Bernie's politics but he has an ist on him that has left a bit of a stench.

It is arguable that he is the reason Florida has DeSantis.

I speak for every liberal in the U.S. when I say: please do. 🙏

Meanwhile, Deplorable boogeyman Gavin Newsom is likely not running for President after endorsing Biden as well. They were sure obsessed with him for a bit, though. 🤣

Bernie Sanders is older than Biden, so any mention of VP is a nonstarter. I think Biden has silenced the possibility of switching by including Harris so prominently in his campaign kickoff video today.

The Communist in Bernie still burns bright. I remember when all you heard from Bernie was about the "Millionaires and the billionaires" but now it's only the "billionaires" because the useless Marxist has become a millionaire and realizes he doesn't have the innovation or graft potential to become a billionaire, so now we see this:

Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) called for the U.S. government to confiscate assets over $999 million, and also announced his support for President Joe Biden.

The senator spoke with CNN anchor Chris Wallace last week for an interview when he declared that billionaires should not exist.

Sanders said he believes that the government should seize personal assets over his suggested limit before any American could become a billionaire.

Of course, Bernie endorsing President Biden STILL won’t be good enough for SOME of the radical lefties.

Bernie seems to accept that the center left will achieve more ACTIAL PROGRESS than the far left could ever hope to. - And the center left is a bulwarks against the far right as well. It’s sad that it took a T**** presidency and President Biden’s success for Bernie to come to that realization. Now if only Susan Sarandon, etc would get a clue.

Bernie endorsing President Biden is genius. He still has major pull with young voters who will turn out in spades again. 👍🏻

Don't worry, bro. He's not going after hundredaires like you.

Do you have any facts to go along with that baseless smear or are you just relying on your emotional feelings for the thankless loser that lost the Presidential race to a moron? Bernie campaigned his ass off for her.

'Nobody likes him' - Hillary Clinton bashes Bernie Sanders

WASHINGTON, Jan 21 (Reuters) - Hillary Clinton criticized the campaign of her former Democratic presidential rival Bernie Sanders in a new documentary in which she says he was an ineffective U.S. senator who accomplished little because “nobody liked him.”

Hillary Clinton keeps blaming Bernie Sanders, but he's not the reason she lost to Trump in 2016

  • Clinton said she wouldn't commit to supporting Sanders if he won the Democratic nomination.
  • But Sanders didn't behave much differently than any other primary opponent in 2016 and campaigned vigorously on her behalf after she clinched the nomination.
  • The Clinton campaign's hubristic strategy of taking for granted the Midwestern "blue-wall" states of Michigan and Wisconsin (both of which Clinton lost to Sanders) likely had a lot more to do with her defeat.

Bernie Sanders’s Hard Fight for Hillary Clinton

One of the many things that makes Donald Trump angry is that Bernie Sanders does not seem to hold grudges. In recent speeches, Trump has pointed to the information that has come out, through WikiLeaks’ disclosures of John Podesta’s e-mails, about the Clinton team’s attitude toward Sanders during the primaries: the slights (“doofus”), the schemes (“where would you stick the knife?”), and the eye-rolling (“socialist math”). Perhaps worst of all—at least from Trump’s point of view—was Donna Brazile’s passing along of debate questions. "Now, Bernie Sanders should be angry right? Shouldn’t he be angry?” Trump asked a crowd in Florida. He sounded a little bit puzzled—he would be so mad.

Bernie Sanders to step up campaign schedule for Hillary Clinton

Sen. Bernie Sanders is about to start tearing up the campaign trail.

The Vermont independent will campaign for Hillary Clinton in the battleground states of Iowa and Minnesota on Monday and Tuesday, and appearances elsewhere are in the works.

“He’s talking about traveling all over the country to help Secretary Clinton,"

It is Sooooo probable that Trump won't be around in 2024. It's quite possible Biden won't be either. So, this is one to just sit and watch at this point.

Sure do want the Republicans to spin out their loser Trump for as long as possible, though.

You're not even from or in Florida. STFU You don't know shit about what happened for the governor's race.
You seem to have endless excuses for Democratic losers that get outsmarted by the dumbest Republicans in modern history. Will there ever be a time when you hold them responsible for winning elections and not concoct some conspiracy theory that absolves them of their incompetence?

Dunno... haven't tried that yet.

Maybe I'll just pretend the entire US electorate is so oppressed that they can't vote. Seems to be the thing.

In the meantime, you still don't know shit about what happened in Florida. It's just more mouth breathing.

Maybe you should log on as your alt so you can bitch on the other side. :nana:

What progress? Losing fundamental rights is not progress. That gaslighting bullshit is a no sell here. Maybe you try getting your news from sources outside corporate controlled legacy media and Democratic Party mailers.

Roe v. Wade Overturned: How the Supreme Court Let Politicians Outlaw Abortion

The abortion bans that have taken effect since June 2022 have inflicted harm on Black, Latino, Indigenous, and other communities of color — communities where systemic racism has long blocked access to opportunity and health care

When faced with uncomfortable facts you default to more wild eyed and baseless conspiracy theories. It couldn't possibly be that some people hold politicians responsible for their losing campaign strategies. They have be an alt, or bots, or shape shifting lizard people from outer space.

You betcha.

You don't hold politicians responsible by abdicating your civic duty.

Politicians of any party are not entitled to votes. You're going to have to get over that. You want to win elections? Put forth candidates with policies that people want to vote for. Shaming them demonstrably does not work. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.

Gotta vote in order to pick winners or losers.

Rocket science. Not your strong suit.

BD66 and Susan Sarandon had it all figured out in 2016:

Hillary wasn’t perfect, so trash / boycott her candidacy, and help the corrupt orange traitor win to accelerate the complete destruction of democratic governance, which would ultimately result in a left wing utopia that would rise from the ashes of the corrupt orange traitor’s “American carnage”.

That ^ strategy worked out really well.

🙄
