I cannot say how much I love the debate ranging throgh this thread. Olivianna, you've made me think more about John Berger and his book "Ways of Seeing" than anyone has in years. It is about images and perceptions.

In that vein, I accept some responsibility for the "trashiness" of some of the images posted. I wanted more of the sort of "Art Photography" like Ginny posts, but I don't GOOGLE all that well.

What I was interested in showing was that pregnant women could be desireable and sexual. Perhaps it's a point that need not have been made. And perhaps I could have done it better.

What I wasn't interested in doing was cheapening, in any way, the beauty that I perceive. Perhaps I've done that.

although I haven't looked at the pics, I think it's evident the high esteem you hold pregnant women and the miracle they carry.

Personally, I think you did just fine. We all have our own opinions and views and not everyone has to share the same ones. That's what makes life interesting.

During each of my pregnancies, I wish that I had been percieved as still desireable and a sexual being. I may have felt so much better about my changing body and enjoyed the pregnancies even more.

What a wonderful tribute to the pregnant woman here.

Pregnancy is one of the times when a woman is at her most feminine. Yes, it is different for different women and the discomforts of pregnancy for some can darken that sense of femininity for some. But for others it is heightened.

I felt extremely sexual both pregnant and breastfeeding in that I was so aware of my body and its femaleness. Even my second pregnancy when I got huge and sick to my stomach through all of it. It seemed my skin craved to be touched and my sexual center throbbed with the blood flowing there. The times I made love were incredible for my self-esteem to feel so attractive and sexual in my swollen state. I didn't feel like an object but a goddess.

bad kitty....those are lovely pictures....I bet O will find in them the artistic honoring of gravid women he was looking for.
