Picking a new mattress is a royal fucking pain. Foam, Springs, Air, Hybrids, Pillow tops,...

What do you like and why?

Does anyone here have a water bed and will admit to it?

Who is Lit's most likely water bed owner?

As in all things I will go with Dolf....

ha! my mattress is aged, the padding is gone and I can feel every one of its springs. but, seeing as it's only ever me who uses it, it's always on the bottom of the list of things to replace.

I have a Temurpedic and love it. My only complaint is that they are not the coolest beds in the world.

I think the springs in mine getting wedged betwixt balls and anus might put you off your stroke.

Waterbed. Warm in the winter, cool in the summer. Simply by adjusting the thermostat 4 degrees.

Don't the 'sleep number' people let you try before you buy? <shrug>

PS. Call me later.

This site actually has a "sex" category for reviewing beds....

I would think if you let a bed affect your sexual performance you probably have more pressing concerns.

Besides, some of the best sex happens anywhere but a bed.

I agree with the above, in fact prolonging the life of a bed is a good excuse to fuck everywhere else.

We have a power recliner that we have just about worn out...

For beds we currently have a tempurpedic(well the cheaper "bob-o-pedic) version because my wife has some issues with her sciatic never and it really makes a difference for her

Growing up and staying over friends house I use to sleep on the floor. Let a blanket down on the floor, get something to cover up with, and I'm good to go. A comfortable bed is a plus, but it's not a need for me.

I have a sleep number and I hate it. There are two separate chambers, my side is about 70 and I keep the other side at 100. If it's anything less or anyone else is in it I always feel like I'm on a cliff on my side, hanging on. I hate living life on the edge.

I stayed at this schmancy pants hotel about 6 weeks ago that had a temperpedic and I haven't slept that good in a long time.

I currently have a foam mattress, it's okay. I always got Serta the firmer the better mattresses. Best thing is to find a place and try them out.

Mattresses are like perfume. We're currently looking for a new mattress but I doubted a thread would help because every single person prefers something different. We have that built-in pillow top that doesn't let you flip the mattress and it drives me nuts. I also don't want to go lie down in a hundred beds at the store. To me, almost all of them will be comfy; it's the waking up in the morning that really tells you anything.

Well I've been incredibly helpful, yes? No.

I toss and turn at night, because I'm a light sleeper. I also tend to sleep on the edge of the bed, mainly because my wife sleeps like a fucking starfish. The Tempurpedic beds do keep you in your place. Once you get in your spot, you don't move like you normally would. With that said, that's part of why they are so hot. My fat ass lays in one position all night.

Also, you have to have a flat surface on which you lay down a Tempurpedic. You can't use just any old box spring.

But they are amazingly comfortable, even though they are expensive.

Westin Hotels have great beds, don't know the brand.

We have a single-side pillow top, too. I also freaking hate it.

I think I want a sleep number bed, but I'm also too cheap to shell out the money for that.

I've heard that the sleep number bed is just a trumped up air mattress, fwiw.

I've spent a small fortune on mattresses and bases for our home.

King Koil, Sleepmaker, Sealy.

I've had back problems. I will never sleep on a shitty mattress ever again.

Well you got me thinking. A lot of these fancy sleep number etc. beds are nothing more than two Twins joined together to make a King.

Your grandmother had what is called a 'swing away twin' and she loved it. Essentially it is two twin beds hinged at a King headboard with a locking pin at the center of the bottom of the two beds. When locked up it is essentially a King bed, but each party can purchase a mattress/box springs to suit their own taste. She also liked the swing away feature for changing the sheets, etc. You were dealing with basically changing two twins instead of a King or Queen and a twin is a snap to change linen on.

Anyway, just throwing out an alternative.
