"Because it's there."

Low precip year for you? We're having a desert winter. I have no idea what the ice is like this year.

Plenty of precip and cold temps.....lotsa ice. I haven't been by, but I imagine that Candyland (a wall past Bird Point) is living up to it's name.

I suppose I could do that, too. Hmm.

So I did, a ski up the front side of our little local hill and then down the road around the back. Probably four miles or so all told, and not much of it effortless. Excellent to be out moving in the wintery hills again. I plan on making a habit of it, to see what it feels like to get back in shape again.

The habit. It's like crack.

Not very exposed at all, is it?

Especially there. It was like a tourist brochure. Speaking of which, how's Anchorage this fine evening?

Low teens outside (°F) with only a couple mph wind. I can see the lights of the city clearly, so it's not snowing. Today, we had everything from a blizzard to bright sun at the house. I was out to Eagle River mid-day and the weather was boring out there.

Stable. We're warming up here, from negative single numbers this time last night to +22 right now. Supposed to be in the forties this week...so much for the skiing.
