soooooo, where have you paddled?
Pretty much just around Blackstone; not in any of the rivers. Back home, just chill places off Baja and stuff...

so, ocean kayaking?........still cool....

Let's hope not. :)

Sounds like a good time! :D
It really is. For me, climbing is all about exploration, anyway, not climbing successively harder bits of rock. I wanted to climb because it was a way of exploring the mountains. That's where the true beauty lies, the places that climbing allows you to visit.

yeah, and a pool roll just isn't the same in the river.....at least, he was dressed to swim.....however, we found he had not been briefed about foot entrapments, etc.....grrrrrr
There's no excuse for that sort of horseshit.

you're right.....they did have 3 other kayakers for safety.......but still!

we always start with a safety briefing.....it just keeps people on their toes

I have always told my climbing students that you're supposed to be afraid of heights; that's a healthy reaction to something that can kill you.

Please do.
Your climbing students?

See now, if you'd just moved over to Utah instead, we'd have been okay. ;)

I was out in your area in Feb. for training and hiked around in Red Rocks...beautiful.

I've been out there twice so far. Hiked the last time. It is great out there too. I would like to try the mountains just south of there...they look like I will need to exercise a bit more to ensure I'm capable of them though. :)

Utah isn't that far away.
