Of course!
I am driving the minivan up. That hiking stuff is for the birds.
You won't have to get the Asolos dusty.

REI swore that model walks up the mountain by themselves. I just have to hang on.
I don't quite believe those guys. They're not the same guys that used to be in that little store in Seattle in the 70's when I became a member.
Maybe I should be on the safe side and have the dirt bike in the truck.
The only way to improve that is to have climbed really hard to get there, be facing a miserable bivy, and switch the beer for whiskey.Drinking beer in the alpenglow is just a damn fine thing to do.

Ahahahaha...where are they?
Unless you're Clint Eastwood in that miserable movie. As an old fat guy, anytime I'm heading up it's hard to get there......but I agree, if the journey is to continue, whiskey is the drink.......beer is much too bulky to be carrying
The two peaks are in Colorado, not far off the main drag known as I 70, and East of Vail.

I would play the George Kennedy part.
Phew. I can't stand Clint Eastwood.![]()
Thor, is that the catalog with the profile of Henry Barber in it? Damn was that guy visionary. And what a great guy. I had the pleasure of talking to him a couple times when I lived back East.
Damn, I missed Allium. Hey, lady, just in case you come back again. Nice to see you.

Ah, Patagucci. Always so expensive, and somehow still...

I saw that link, yeah. Nice guy, Henry. Total badass. I remember that sportcoat from catalogs and stuff. Have you tried Ebay? Some dead climber's mother may have one for sale...You can listen to him again at Link.
I have an old Patagonia sport coat, that folds up into a 9x9 pouch. If I could find another less worn one, I'd buy it. They do have some good stuff and a bunch of stuff that's way too spendy.

It's the perfect coat to wear with jeans. I keep my eyes open.
The official climbing season on Denali is over. 1272 climbers registered and 755 made the summit. 16 people registered for Foraker and one made the summit.
Who nailed Foraker this year? Did you catch the name?
That was from a stat's page from the NPS. I dunno who it was, but whoever, they're damn tough.
Yeah, and probably really fast as well. I'm sure it was one of these single-push alpine-style badasses.
I did a quick search and didn't find the name.......but i did find the AMS climbing blog for 2008....and the NPS data might be wrong.....I don't have time to check, now.
