My mother. Because she loved unconditionally, not just her family but everyone. She did not have a mean bone in her body. She was beautiful.

I always thought my mother was beautiful, and never looked her age. She still doesn't look fifty, even with the greys (she has light strawberry blonde hair. They go well).

I think my fiance is beautiful. Everyone else sees a hairy scary monster. I see someone who I know would walk on hot coals for me, not that I'd ever ask him to!

Personally, I believe personality has a LOT to do with beauty. If you're ugly inside, it shows on the outside. Trite I know (I blame the hair bleach... more on that later in the week *g*)

Obviously one of those on my list would be my wife scars and all. She is my shining light.

Another would be a young lady I took care of a while back.

When I met her Tracy was one of those Nordic Blonde Types. Tall, thin and stacked with Blonde Hair. She was all of 26 years old and had been diagnosed with Breast Cancer. The first time I saw her she was walking down the hallway hunched over after a double Mastectomy. She was wearing the traditional chic hospital gown and her hair was straggling down her face. When she saw me standing in the hallweay with my beard and long hair she tried to stand tall and smiled at me. It endeared me to her as much as I allowed myself to feel for the patients.

The next time I saw her Tracy was once again in the Hospital. She was undergoing the Chemo and Radiation Treatments her cancer demanded. She was sick but fighting. She was sitting up in her bed when I came in first thing in the morning to do her vital signs. I introduced myself, did the Vital Signs and then left while telling her if there was anything she needed she had only to call me. Later in the day she called. She was vomiting and needed help. I showed up and held her hair out of her face with one hand as I held the basin for her. When she was done I got some cool clothes and washed her face for her.

The next day I was informed that she had demanded I care for her. I walked into the room and found her in tears. She held up her hand with a hank of hair in it. The look of fear in her eyes was real and I smiled as I worked hard to relieve her fears. I told her then that I didn't think a bald woman unattractive. In fact I told her that if a woman looked good woth hair she looked just as good without it. Later that day she called me into her room with an odd request. She wanted me to shave her head. I told her that would have to wait until the next day. (This would give her time to think it over.)

The next day she once again demanded that I shave her head. I gave her more time to think about it when I told her there were things I had to do before I could do this job and she agreed. When I poked my head into her room later in the day she told me she was ready, but she had some more work for me.

I got what I needed and shaved her head for her. When I was done I gave her a mirror so she could look things over. She smiled slightly and asked that dreaded question, would she loose all of her hair. I told her she would and she sat there thinking for a minute before she asked me her next request.

When I was done she was completely bald. I had, at her request shaved everything. Yes we are talking her eyebrows and her pubic hair. By the time I was done she was completely bald. She smiled and thanked me.

I was off for two weeks then and didn't see her when she was discharged.

When I next saw Tracy she had come in for her last Chemo treatment. According to all tests she was clean but they wanted this last treatment just to make sure. Once again she had demanded I take care of her. When I walked into her room forst thing in the morning she was laying in bed asleep and completely bald. I gently woke her as was my want and did her vital signs.

Later in the day I was called to her room for an unknown reason. When I walked into her room she was standing by the windows in her hospital gown. Her new Husband was sitting in a chair and smiling at me. I was introduced to him then Tracy asked me a question. She asked me if I remembered a comment I had made more than a year before when she had started her treatments. One about women and scars. I told her I did and repeated.

"A woman with scars is more beautiful than one without as the scars show she has survived."

Tracy smiled at me and then did something I didn't expect. She dropped her gown and stood there before me wearing nothing but a shy smile. She stood there with no hair on her body. She stood there slim and tall with no breasts. The scars on her chest were fading and her body was slightly wasted due to the Chemo and yet she was proud.

She was the most beautiful woman I had seen because of her pride and her strength. I could do no more than take her into my arms and hold her.

Tracy will never win a beauty award but to me she is still one of the most beautiful women in the world. She is beautiful in her strength and her pride.

I have recently seen Tracy and she would stun you. She is tanned and fit. Her smile will still melt a Broze Buddha. She still shaves her head and her eyebrows. She does so as a reminder to herself of where she has come from. Recently she ran a full marathon to raise money for Breast Cancer Treatment and Awareness.

That's an amazing story, Sea Cat; thanks so much for sharing that with all of us!

The most beautiful person in the world to me is my husband, because anyone you love is beautiful, and he's the person I love most of all. If I were told that I could see only a single sight, from now until I die, it would be his face.

My sister.

While she's absolutely stunning physically (she was a very in demand model in Los Angeles before she married - coal black hair and pale blue eyes), that's not why I say she's beautiful. She has such....faith in the goodness of the world. It just shines from her.

I wish I had that.
