A while ago my lover beat me so that i felt faint and near passing out. I consider myself fairly strong-willed when it comes to mind over matter, this is the first time i've felt like my body couldn't obey my will power after a belting from him.

What i've been wondering about is what may have happened physiologically to create that sensation. Does anyone with more experience in these things have any idea?

does it happen over duration? body heat? I wish i'd had some tools on hand, like a timer and a thermometer. (they wouldn't have been a mood killer i swear)

Endorphin spike. Eat enough before hand?

Temperature, stimulation, crowds.

I've had big hulking expert pain sluts black out like ingenues, I hate it, but it's a fact of SM fun at the more physical levels.

It is difficult to say what has caused the reaction in you as there can be many contributing factors. I know for some it can be lessened by laying down while being beaten as opposed to standing or kneeling. This is sometimes the case with me when I know my blood sugar levels are off. It can also be blood pressure....a drop or elevation. It can be as Netzach says an endorphin rush....can be hormonal.....can just be as simple as an off day. If you notice it again, or are exceptionally concerned, perhaps getting your blood count tested and a few other tests would help to lessen the concern or let you know if there is cause for serious concern. The body usually tries to tell us when something is not as usual but often we don't listen. Good luck.

Great pic nutsack. I feel like you are about to hook me up to a hand-cranked telephone and start demanding to know where the Resistance arms depot is and what time we plan to blow up the railway trestle.

Weird coincidence. I just beat my number one concubine on her asscheeks with a belt and really let her know the weight of my emotions towards her recent disobedience. When I unhooked her from the restraint, she couldn't keep her feet, went lurching and stumbling like a drunk. It took me by suprise.

Tang is good warmed up.

It's an av I stole from an incredibly irritating GB regular, the "TANG GOD".

Sometimes, the only way to exorcise the irritating is to impersonate it.

One of those thermometers that is a big dial set on the end of a spike that you poke in the THanksgiving turkey?? Give a few lashes, insert in the ass to check the internal temperature...withdraw..."bitch, your core temperature is still a couple of degrees centigrade high...now prepare to accept chastisement...."

Endorphin seems correct. it puzzled me that it was after the siss-boom-bah that the weakness set in. I knew that I was coming in and out of faintness, but it was after he unchained me that I realized I had virtually no strength to hold myself up for long. Before that I was, (more or less), fine with what he dished.

I didn't know that weakness can be an endorphin effect. Or about eating beforehand.

I'm not terribly worried, but was taken aback. It didn't make sense to my literal head that I would feel disoriented, when he only struck my lower body. Positioning fits the circumstance. I was leaning forward against support, but I'd flipped head to knees for a few minutes near the end. i felt recovered after only a few minutes of lying down.

Going to have to read up on endorphins...I like knowing that unexpected factors like these can be controlled to prevent or bring on this sort of response.

well, something like that. It would have added to the cooked goose on the supper table feel of the fabulous ordeal.

I imagine that , for someone with a lot of anal shame, the insertion of one of those meat-thermometers (well lubed natch)--esp. if on vide0---would be a sublime torture.

psyched for "The Chronicles of Riddick" are we??

I have had similar experiences, sometimes when my blood sugar drops or sometimes, after an especially exhausting session.

It is wise to be sure you have regular physical examinations and be cognizant of your health needs.

I didn't mean to kill the thread so let me throw this out there for discussion.

If any of us have truly been beaten until we were nearly unconcious, at what point, does this violate the terms of SSC?

*gong*

hooks you offstage

Gotta tell ya two night ago during a thrashing lost all control, it was an endorphin spike. Felt just how you explained it. :D

This is a physical thing we do, and it's physically demanding. I've had people want to get pierced or hop into ropes at 2:30 am, having pulled an all-nighter to get the party up and going the night before, and it's really not an ideal way to play.

I've played that way, though, I've bottomed that way. And I find that the less rested, fed and stretched I am the more likely it is that I'll start randomly sobbing like a kid or verging on passing out or feeling really shitty about the world all of a sudden, and I don't mean that in a happy cathartic way.

Not at all, if this was discussed beforehand and both sides agreed on such edge play experiemnt.

It's Safe?
When done with responsible person, why not? :)

It's Sane?
Why not test limits of organism sometimes? :D

It's Consensual?
Depends on what both sides agreed before, but I don's see what it should not be ;)

Lack of oxygen comes to mind...I recently had problem with my whole body quivering for several minutes after orgasm....after a fairly long session of being smacked around....my arms and legs shook uncontrollably to the point where my lover had to hold a glass of water for me to drink out of because my hands were shaking too violently for me to hold it. I've been told that this is due to short shallow breaths, which depletes the amount of oxygen in the muscles...could it be something along those lines? Just a thought.

Lack of oxygen and endorphin spikes are definitely culprits in muscle weakness. As an athlete, I know most of us train to a certain level for events. In the actual performance, exactly the type of weakness and loss of control described occurs when their bodies are pushed past the point of their training - even briefly. It is a physiologic - kind of like the "fight or flight" - response. The body's amazing self-protection system at work!
