Finally heard from the Sleep Center and they said that he DOES need to come back but they are having problem with the equipment and wanted to know if he could come tomorrow night instead. I told them he was leaving Sat morning for camp, so they went to check and said that if we don't do it tomorrow night that they cannot get him in until July 13. So we are doing it tomorrow night, he will have just about enough time to come home and shower and get ready and get to the church to leave for camp. It is a long trip, it is way down south Tx, by Texas A&M, and that he can sleep on the bus, if he can...he is much better than me. I never could sleep on the bus. But we want to get this over with. Wish us luck. And I hope that you have a great weekend if I don't get back in to see ya.

Ive just got back from my wound dr and everything is well he likes the direction its going which is starting to heal justtake a while longer. I hope all went well with your shoulder and that its getting better. Heres a big wish that everything goes well for your son I hope he'll be able to sleep when they put the mask on him, tell your son that when he's ready to go to slep to think about camp or something he really likes so he doesnt think about anything but that and sleeping, sending you all my thoughts and prayers for you and your son also sending hugs.

Thanks Bear. I did tell him. My shoulder is fine. I hurt it at work in Oct of '99 and it has permanent damage. It hurts when it is cold, wet or when I lift too much. I have restriction of no lifting above my shoulder and 15-25 lb limit. But other than that it is fine. Thanks for you concern. I am glad all went well at the dr. and that the wound is healing well. Take care and get better soon.

Sleep study saga continues....
Thursday I had only got a couple of hours of sleep due to working all night Wed, going to the dr. for my shoulder Thu morning and then the sleep center calling and rescheduling the sleep study for Fri instead of Thu, so I had to go to work Thu night. I worked all night, got off work, we had breakfast and set up the garage sale. Made a little bit, still not really what we had hoped for. I had given some things to charity that might have sold well, but that's ok. But needless to say I was up all day, no sleep whatsoever and then we both showered and got to the hospital, checked in, paid the co-pay and then went upstairs for the sleep study. The tech we had Tues. had told us that this was his last week, so that if we did not have it this week, we would have someone else performing the study. (Thu we could not go due to problems with the equipment) So the tech we had last night was not used to being at the hospital, she had there before, but been quite a while, and she told us that it would be a little while so for us to fill out questionnaire and could watch tv. So after I finished the paperwork she said that it might be a little bit because with him resigning she guess he wanted to make sure that they had all the equipment and he took the CPAP machine to the lab or main office. They had not told her that and she did not know until she got to the hospital that it was not there. So she was trying to see if she could find someone to bring it to her. I had in the meantime already called in at work. So by about 10 pm we were definitely both getting tired, but when we walked in the room I saw that they had a roll away bed this time! So I would not have to sleep in a chair again!!
So she walked in about 10p and said that they were going to cancel the sleep study because noone could bring the CPAP machine until around 11 and it was about a 30 min drive away and it would be about midnight by the time got hooked up! She was really upset but said that they would not let her leave to go get it with us there.
She asked if rescheduling would cause a problem and I said yes, due to them already rescheduling us before and that I had to miss work due to coming to the hospital for the study. Daniel asked her if we would be able to get our money back? She looked puzzled and I explained to her about the co payment. She said that she was used to being in the lab and didn't really know how all that work, but to hold on and she would call again.
She explained to them that I had already had to reschedule and that I had to miss work so when she got off the phone she said that they were sending someone out with the machine. So she started to hook all the things to Daniel. She was not as knowledgeable as the tech on Tues but she was very nice and the guy got there with the machine and help her to set it up. So after she got Daniel settled in bed she got me sheets and blankets and then had Daniel do a few things, like with his eyes open look up/down, eyes closed do the same, flex each leg, close eyes and hold it for 10 secs. and then she told him to make snoring noises but with the CPAP mask on he couldn't so she told him to hum and then FINALLY started to test and we slept pretty good except that they would set an alarm to go off every so often to check something and it would wake me up and she would come in and do something and then leave again. So then we got home about 6:30 and finished packing for camp and double checked for about the 5 th time to make sure that we had everything. And then Dad picked us up and took us to Jack in the Box for him to get a Sunrise Pannido sp? and then we went to get him some beef jerky to snack on on the way down to camp. We are in N. Tx (Dallas area)and the camp is down south by Texas A&M. So it is a good 5-6 hr drive. The bus was supposed to leave at 8:30 but they left a little bit late waiting on someone to get there. I am not sure if they finally arrived or they just finally left without them. I am sure he will have a great time. It will be rather quite here and I will probably get kind of lonely. But it is worth it. I know he will have lots of good childhood memories from this. Monday I will have to call the specialist and let them know that we are done with the sleep studies and schedule a follow up visit to determine what they are going to do to correct the problem.
