Beach Side Lofts

Vivi finished cleaning up drying the floor with a rag. On her hands and knees she continued drying things off, wiping them down and straghtening up until she turned to find the dark stranger in the door way. With a jerky start she stepped back dropping her rag to the floor. "Um...I'm sorry I didn't know anyone was in." she stammered looking down at the cloth then back up at him.

This guy had a lot of danger written over him, dark and foreboding. His eyes seemed too be hard to read and his expression as he stood leisurely in the doorway. Vivi quickly knelt down to retrieve the rag. "I'll be leaving now." she spoke softly barely above a whisper her eyes downcast.

Mathias smirked marginally sliding to the side of the door just enough room to let her pass. "Sure thing doll." He said remaining in the door way regardless of his slight shift in movement. He was taking advantage of the situation figuring he had a hard night why not get a little excitement before he crashed for most part of the day. He had to admit he was friggin tired.

Vivi sighed realizing what was going on; with a stomp she walked up to him sliding in the small passage which made her brush against him rather uncomfortably but she did so nonetheless. Glaring up at him silently she hurried past heading for the door and out to the hall.

"So rude." she muttered tossing her rag on the car and pushing it down the hall back to the lobby. With her work done for the morning she had a little free time to spare and did so refilling her cart with supplies then heading to the break room for some coffee.

The soft, lilting sounds of whistling carried down the hallway from the front security desk as Brodie apatheticly watched the security monitors. Pretty desolate on the grave yard shift. Not too bad though as one could slack off occasionaly and not worry about getting in trouble for it. Not that his job was that complicated.

He gave a bored sigh and lifted his feet from the table, standing up. Guess it was time to make the rounds. Let the next guy spend hours looking at flickering screens. He straightened his hat and touched a hand to his nightstick. If only this job was so brain-numbingly monotonous. It was a living though. Brodie stretched up to the height of his six-one and lean frame before heading out, giving his thick sideburn and shaggy hair that popped out of the side of his hat a scratch.

Vivi sipped her coffee lightly the hot liquid a welcome to the tention she had felt with the last tenant. He was just so rude, she thought. Stepping from the break room she decided she would enjoy her coffee in the lobby it didn't hurt to have a little time to herself.

As she entered the lobby she saw Brodie beginning the makings of his rounds. "Good morning, Brodie." she called with a curt nod taking a seat on the sofa provided she set her coffee on a coaster allowing it time to cool. "Heading out for your rounds?" she inquired situating herself before lifting her coffee to sip once more.

"Hrm?" Brodie snapped his head over and smirked, tipping his hat up and hanging his hands on his belt. "Ah, Vivi! Pleasant seeing you here!" He turned and walked into the break room, looking at his watch. Meh, he had time.

"Not without some java perking me up..." Brodie laughed and scratched the back of his head. He walked to the coffee pot and picked it up to his nose to give it a sniff before pouring a cup for himself. "So how's it hanging V? Hope they dont have you working too hard..." He smirked and pulled up a seat to a small card table that was adjacent to the couch, taking a seat and sipping his coffee.

"Doing great just fantastic. You have to admit working here is quite amazing such a warm atomosphere." She breathed sipping her coffee slowly. "The tenants seem nice a few moody ones but what can you expect?" she chuckled finishing off the coffee and going to the sink to clean it out. She leaned against the counter to finish her conversation.

"Heh, I dunno about you but the only tenents I get are moody ones..." Brodie smirked and rested his elbows on the table, sipping his coffee. "Bout the only interaction I get with tenents are the ones comming up to me complaining that one of the maids stole something of theres..." he laughed looked over to her. "Then to find out they put it under their couch...nah, my days get pretty monotonous. Basicly stare at a screen for one shift, walk down some hallways the next..."

She laughed understanding where he was coming from. "Brodie's work is never done." She said in a mock tone taking a seat across from him. "You may get yelled at for this and that, but I get yelled at for other people not doing their job right. Its bad enough I have to be head of the maids; but I get blamed for them too." She sighed with a soft laugh it didn't bother her too much growing used to it by now.

He laughed with her and tipped his hat up, flashing her a smile. "Well I guess I dont have much to complain about then..." he smirked and finished hsi coffee with a final slurp, putting it down with a sigh. "Got to be frustrating putting up with that much shit Vivi, I dont know how you deal with that on a daily basis..."

"I manage just fine." she said standing as well. "I guess I don't have a choice...if I want to keep such a nice job." She pulled at her uniform feeling it ride up on her from sitting down for so long. After a moment of awkward silence she figured it was time to head to work. "Well I don't want to keep you; and seeing how I have rooms to clean. I'll catch you later, Brodie." she waived him off as she stepped back out into the hall to gather her cart and make her rounds.

"Yeah...I'll see you later..." he took his hat off and put it on the table, turning his head to her as she left, giving a longing sigh. His eyes drifted down her, checking her out as she exited the room. By the time he became fixated on her butt he blinked, finally becomming aware of what he was doing. Brodie gave his head a shake and wiped a hand over his face.

"Probably need another one of these..." he looked into his coffee cup and frowned, slapping his hat on and walking over to the coffee machine to pour himself another. Instead of sitting down though he walked out of the room as Vivi was getting her things togethor.

"Mind if I join you? Im going in the same direction anyhow..."

Vivi looked up and then behind her smiling, "Sure, it would be nice to have some company for a change." she said, returning to stocking her cart, when she finished she began to push the buggy along leaning against it for support though bulky in size it was hardly heavy or hard to push. She took a side long glance at Brodie giggling slightly to herself; at first learning his name she'd often been prone to fits of laughter and it hasn't changed since he probably already knew that. Looking him over she lingered longer than expected but quickly averted her gaze. "Penny for your thoughts." she said still looking ahead.

"Penny for my what? Oh, heh, nothing really on my mind right now.." He chuckled and turned his head away from her, giving his eyes a roll before turning back. Never knew why it was hard to talk to her but it definitly was. Brodie sipped his coffee and hung his hand on his belt and nightstick as he walked with her, a lounged gate to his step like he didnt have a worry in the world.

"What about you V? Whats going on with you?"

She smiled a bit machanically, "Nothing really, boring life as usual." Nevermind her morning encounter but that was better left unmentioned. "I just go to school and come to work. I hardly have time for myself anymore as it is." she sighed stopping at a vending machine. Reaching in her pocket she pulled out the change necessary and got herself some juice. "What about you? I'm usre there's plenty going on with you. Bachelor like you, the girls are probably beating the door down by now." she said taking a sip.

"Hah! I wish that were the truth..." He slid his nightstick off his belt and gave it afew short waves. "You'd think being a security guard would be one of those jobs that was popular with the ladies...you'd be surprised though..." Brodie laughed and put his club back on his belt tilting his hat up.

"Didnt know you were going to school, im doing the same thing. What are you studying?" He lturned to her and smiled, sipping his hot beverage.

"Multimedia." she said softly watching Brodie in his antics. "Well don't keep hope alive. You'll have the ladies at your beck and call soon enough." she said bumping him with her hip. So far no rooms seemed to need cleaning, with that in mind she didn't bother checking either.

"Heh!" Brodie chuckled and scratched the side of his face. "Well I guess paramedics make out well enough..." He smirked over to her as she bumped him, clearing his throat. "So what about you? Got any special someone?" He walked with her in step, dangling his empty coffee mug.

"Eh..." she shrugged not particularly caring of the idea. "Not really, I'm not attractive or interesting enough to snag the guy I was after. Dont' worry I"m over it." she laughed drinking hte last of her juice and tossing it in the trash bin she had on the cart. "And what's keeping you from tying a fair filly for yourself?" she inquired a wry smile on her lips.

"Well I was in a relationship not long ago. That Amy girl I talked to you about acouple weeks ago? Well we broke up last week..." He sighed and shrugged, scratching the back of his head. "Wasn't too bad, it was pretty mutual. Though I would have rather it not end...kinda hard for me sometimes say what I want to, takes me alittle while. That would probably be the main reason im not snagging the women-folk left and right..." Brodie smirked and looked over to her.

"Though I dont know why you say that...Id have to say you have alot going for you."

"Oh I'm sorry to hear that." she said, patting him on the shoulder. "As for me, I just don't see the point. Too busy to get involved as it is." She said softly with a smile. "Besides it doesn't look right for me to be chasing after a guy. I might look desperate or something. God forbid."

"Well that was probably one of the downfalls of her and me. I wanted to spend more time with her but the few hours im not working, studying or sleeping just werent enough..." He sighed and put his mug on her cart and put his hand behind his head. Brodie peered out the side of his eye at her and cracked a smile.

"Guess that would mean you like the guys chasing after you huh?"

Finished cleaning up, Christian decided it was time to get out there and enjoy his vacation. He opened he door, seeing Vi down the hall. He smiled and began to wave, but then noticed she seemed to be otherwise occupied.

"Hmmm.. well.. maybe she's not the little innocent one I thought she was"

Christian smirked at the thought, shaking his head a little to himself. He turned and walked down the hallway, opening a door and heading downstairs.

"Now why would I want a guy to persue me?" she said playfully chuckling lightly. "Either way I don't care really. I'm too busy to noticed anyone chasing after me even if they bricked me in the head and dragged me back to the cave." She winked. "I'd probably get back up and apologize for being in the way of the brick or something."

He shuffled his shoulders abit and gave the back of his head abit of a scratch, looking off into a direction away from her. Shouldn't let that get you down, he thought to himself. Though the comment did put somewhat of a ding in his armor. Brodie faced back toward her, giving her a smile with his eyes closed, chuckling lightly.

"Heh, the way you talk about it seems like you've just about given up on the game. I find it hard to believe that, even with a hectic shedule such as the one you have..." He scratched the wisp of his goatee and stared down the hall in step with her, jingling abit of loose change in his pocket with each step.
