Be Cool

The heat doesn’t seem to bother me as much as it does most people.

I have noticed over the last several years that I will drop about 5 pounds every summer. I drop it at the first heat wave and it stays off until fall.

Heat makes me short tempered. I have been short tempered for the last three weeks!

I haven't been either a) without air conditioning on, or b) fully clothed in my house for about a month. Right now I am b)

Yaknow, I know the heat's annoying and all that, but I just lived through my first Canadian winter this year. It took me all the way to July to get fully thawed out, and I had to go to the desert southwest to do that! I figure that by the time I'm ready to complain about the heat, I'm going to be frozen again.

I also lost about a stone this summer, but that happened after I started working construction. Unfortunately, I didn't really have a stone to lose.

What part of Canada? Saskatchewan winters are fricken killer.

I got my fix thinking about you posting last night w/o pants... :nana:

If I had a hardon I could actually hug that against my chest for warmth :)D) but my computer fans whirring and blowing cold air on me isn't helping.

I love this poem

We Real Cool
by Gwendolyn Brooks

We real cool. We
Left school. We

Lurk late. We
Strike straight. We

Sing sin. We
Thin gin. We

Jazz June. We
Die soon.

We read that in university. I almost picked that for one of my essays but I picked something else.
It's better not to ruin a poem you like by writing 6 pages about it.
If I had, I'd be saying, "Oh I HATE this poem, I analyzed it in university."

I have done a lot of her poems as oral interpretations back in the day.

I don't blame you for not wanting to dissect it.
