Mijailo Mijailovic has confessed to the murder of Anna Lindh. He hasn't explained why he did it, only that it had nothing to do with politics.

Oh, great! A random act of violence, just for the heck of it!

Sleep tight, Sweden!

If that is the only case ever in Sweden then your country has been remarkably fortunate so far.

The IRA in its various forms has practised random murder as a political act for years.

Mentally ill people have killed random victims in the UK for years.

Is Sweden exempt from insanity?

Og

Wills!

What ogg means, is: "is it common in Sweden that people murder other people at random WITHOUT BEING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL?"

No, it's not very common.

They do here too. Especially since the rehab programs, general mental healthcare and halfway homes for mentally ill were given severe budget cuts the last few decades. Please don't get me started on this. I could rant for ages.

There are just that many more Brits, on a much smaller area, so the ratio of incidents is higher.

Here, here

Amen to that, 59-odd million in England alone!

5 million in Scotland, 3 (million) in Wales.

In fact the UK is the most densely populated place on the planet.

But then you probably knew that!

Parts of Indonesia and Hong Kong also figure well above the UK. It depends on the definition of "place" otherwise any major city in the commuter hour could claim the highest density per square metre.

Yea mate and getting topped up by the day with bogus asylum seekers dropping off trucks and trains by the hundred, claiming their neighbours dog barked at them back home and they're in fear for their life.

This of course being to the detriment of genuine asylum seekers in real fear of persecution, as now the rules are to be tightened up to stop the un-sustainable flood. (Hopefully).
