Hi... I was thinking, are there any bdsm movies with a real plot out there? Like, a normal story, with emotions and stuff, which also includes bdsm traits... I've been looking and looking, but I haven't really found the thing I'm looking for.
I was just interested cos I think an emotional bdsm movie would be really great. Anyone have anything to add to this subject? o.o

Depends exactly what you are looking for. One of my favourites would have to be Preaching To The Perverted which is a F/m romantic comedy with plenty of kink, fetish and SM scenes included.

Well yea, things like that. althought, I'm not much for F/m... more like M/f. :)

But yea.. a movie, romantic preferably whoch isnt just BDSM, but alot more. I'd like to see an emotional connection between the actors too... It can also contain humor. It's just that I loose my interest quickly if it's all just about the sex and the scene and stuff.

But thanks alot anyway :)

OoooOOoOOoh. I'll have to check that one out. :)

I'm not usually into romantic comedies, but the thought that there might be a half-decent bdsm-themed movie out there? wow.

LOL, I never get tired of watching it and I'm a female slave (it does have poly and bi themes in it as well)...even has ponyboy training in it!! :D I saw an interview recently with the guy who made it and he was saying it was sparked off a little after the court battles in the UK around what constitutes consent etc., and the crackdown on BDSM type clubs in London and was made all the more interesting because the plot was written around a similar issue of government intervention to try and shut down SM clubs. The soundtrack is great as well.

Of course, there's Secretary with Maggie Guillinhal (sp?) and James Spader. Fairly mainstream but with enough of a twist to keep things interesting.

Since you're looking for films with a bdsm twist but not necessarily porn, try "In the Realm of the Senses" and "Pillow Book." :D

"In the Realm of the Senses" was a Franco-Japanese film from 1976 directed by Nagisa Oshima. Based on a true event that took place in Japan in the late 1930s. Very graphic sexually for it's time with strong bdsm scenes, think it's "truer" than the original "Story of O." Is also more tragic - here's the Wikepedia link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_the_Realm_of_the_Senses

"Pillow Book" (1977) is produced and directed by Peter Greenway (The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover). From Rotten Tomatoes: "An arresting Japanese model seeks to indulge her fantasy of having calligraphy inked on her body, a whim based partly on her father's habit of painting poetry on her face when she was a girl and partly on readings from the 10th-century erotica tome "The Pillow Book." But the tables are turned when she meets a bisexual English translator who wants to be her canvas instead. An assault on the senses in the best Greenaway tradition, featuring frames-within-frames, elaborate costuming and production design, painterly shot composition, and utterly frank scenes of nudity and violence." Not exactly BDSM throughout but amazingly beautiful. Stars include Ewan McGregor. Dialogue is in English, Japanese, Chinese and French. From one of the DVD / Video covers:

What movies are you referring to like do you mean mainstream cinema movies with BDSM scenes (which are never usually graphic) or like proper adult porn/BDSM movies?

Well... Both kinds would actually suit me... I like just watching movies with a twist... but proper adult movies would be great too.. as long as they are not JUST BDSM.... There are plenty of vanilla-movies with a nice plot and sotry, but contains adult scenes too =( ... I wish there were BDSM movies like that.

I can add a few to the list that are mainstream but have definite D/s themes:

"Cheyenne" is a western about a wife who flees her grumpy, nasty husband with all his money. Hubbie sets a bunch of bounty hunters on Cheyenne and it happens that the hunky, handsome one is the one who captures Cheyenne. So she falls for him very quickly, so quickly that the first time she kisses him (and she's definitely the one who kissed him) her hands are bound together with leather thongs. It's not a great film by any means, and there isn't that much bondage, but there's a definite D/s thing going there.

"Jupiter's Darling" is a 1950s musical about Hannibal's invasion of Rome. It features Esther Williams as the fiance of the Roman emperor who goes out to spy on Hannibal and gets captured by him, treated first as a captive, then as a a slave, then as a hostage, all pretty much the same. At the same time, Hannibal and Esther fall in love with each other. There are a lot of very strong D/s scenes, including a prolonged romantic scene with Esther's hands tied behind her back. No sex you understand, this film was made in the fifties, but there is a clench and a kiss with Esther's hands tied behind her back at the end of that long romantic scene.

"Kiss the Girls Goodbye" (not to be confused with "Kiss the Girls" with Ashley Judd and Morgan Freeman) is an interesting B-grade film about a Stephanie, a woman who's kidnapped by an impotent psychopath named Carl, and kept chained in his basement as his love object, wearing a huge leather gag at all times, which Stephanie seems curiously fond of. After six months of captivity, friends rescue Stephanie from Carl, who gets away. Stephanie seems curiously unhappy after being rescued, mopey and irritable. She also hides and frequently reads the love notes Carl is sending her.

When Carl shows up later to kidnap her all he has to do is drive up to her on the street, order her to get in his car and give her her favorite gag to wear. She puts it on and they go to Carl's new hideout. The story doesn't end there, but why give away more of the plot. Point is, it's an interesting if flawed story with a strong bondage D/s theme.

"Vicious Circles" is the story of a woman who becomes a slavegirl-for-hire to get enough money to pay lawyers to get her framed brother out of jail. A billionaire named March has set up the operation, paying women $2K per day to be his slavegirls on a contractual basis. This involves an intimate medical exam, wearing a special sex harness that pushes their breasts together and does nothing to conceal their womanly charms, living in a special apartment with cameras in every room and being trained, initially by watchinbg videos demonstrating slavegirl positiosn and such.

It's got an interesting character development, as everyone assumes the woman in question is doormat because she's a slavegirl for hire, when in fact she's a very resourceful person who eventually gets even with March and rescues her brother. Unfortunately they left out the training scenes which greatly reduces the dramatic tension of the story -- all we actually see her and the other slavegirls doing is sitting and standing aroudn being sexy, which deosn't seem all that dangerous or alarming.

I like that one. Of course I also have a thing for Maggie Gyllnhall, but that's not the point.

I really loved "The Pillow book " . I found it brilliant :rose:

This thread confirms my suspicion that a Netflix membership would be a good thing to have. The inventory at the local Blockbuster is severely limited!

Oh thank you so much all, for your suggestions :) Many of these movies sound appealing...

I've also looked into this stuff myself, and found out there is a Gor-movie... has anyone watched it? I don't think i have the patience to read 25 books... But I'd like to know if the movie is as good as the books... o.o

Woopie! More movies to watch... I didn't know about those :D

I've had similar thoughts, actually. I personally think that BDSM allows itself for some great production movies. Unfortunately, there probably aren't enough people who would pay for something like that to make it worthwhile economically.

So, you just get cheap sex scenes...

I could envision a great fantasy story with brave warriors, beautiful maidens, and princesses tortured mercilessly in the dark dungeons of the Bad One -and the hero does NOT save her in the nick of time :p Wherein a man is forsaken and mishandled by the world because of his genius, cast from the lands of men for the sin of thought and reason, only to find new comrades in the darkness. He grows powerful, with minions of dark creatures at his disposal, returns to his land to dish out pay-back, particularly on the young maidens. His awesome power brings many men to his side, bluring the lines of good and evil, forcing mankind to think of their actions. Enemy spies are captured and tortured, haughty princesses torn from their thrones and made the plaything of proud warriors, realizing that they relish their captivity -while other women rise in the ranks of the dark army, mercilessly inflicting their will on their hapless subjects. Chaos and mayhem, even a reflection unto our world, in which are forged the icons of honor and nobility. Through strife and compromise, a new era is born...

Now, THAT is a movie I could bare watching (aside from all the grammatical errors :D) ;)

There are two Gor movies, Gor and Outlaw of Gor. They were both made by the same people, and they both basically suck. They contain little or no sexual bondage imagery and not much bondage imagery of any kind. "Outlaw of Gor" is so bad it was actually worked over by the Mystery Science Theater 3000 crew, inspiring the song "Tubular Boobular Joy." The MST3k version is definitely THE version of "Outlaw of Gor" to watch.

I wrote a review of "Gor" with caps, here it is.

the secretary is a great movie, though a little flawed in the way it portrays the BDSM lifestyle. the first time i watched it i thought the Dom in the movie was a mean ass who didn't know what he was doing, after watching a few more times i seen that he was scared of who he was and not sure at all in his abilities as a Dom, though i think He should have waited until he had himself under control before trying to 'control' his secretary, and i also didn't like the fact that it starts out with her getting out of a mental hospital and that shes a 'cutter' somehow seems to me they are saying that women in this lifestyle are 'depressed' co-Dependant weak people, when that is NOT the case at all..BUT... all in all i think it's a great movie, and my very favorite part is the end..where he gets it all right and of course, they live happily ever after. hopefully i didn't give away to much of the plot for those who have not seen it. hmmm...maybe i'll get offline and go watch it before Master gets home from work *smiles*

there is a movie coming out called 'the pet' i've seen the trailer for it and it looks pretty good. here is the link to the official website, i think it's going straight to DVD..it might be out already i'm not sure.... http://www.thepetmovie.com/
