Could some people please recommend some BDSM literature regarding the psychology, sociology and politics of the BDSM community. I would be appreciative.
_Different Loving_ by Brame Brame and Jacobs, 1993
Superb and still relevant journalistic (objective but sympathetic) overview of The Scene. Has too many "big words" for lots of people, but if you don't have trouble with academic books, you might enjoy this one. Available in mainstream bookstores, too. No need to go someplace special to find it.
Later works, like Warren's _Loving Dominant_ copied extensively from this original groundbreaker. (In fact, he copied so extensively in some places, that if I had been the authors of the original book I would have taken his sorry ass to court. Maybe they figured imitation was the greatest form of flattery, but this was outright theft, IMHO.)
PS: Nemo, are you still keeping up the BDSM library? I just looked for a topic called "books" and didn't see one. It might be a good one to add, if it's not already there under another name.
