Bdsm Diy

I hate seeing the consumer mindset taking over BDSM toys.

...

I like to make my own toys. Admittedly, sometimes I get more into making and less into playing! And I have better-than-average skills. But a chunk of broomstick and some rope will hold a bottom's legs apart just as implacably as the finest of spun-aluminum and elkhide dingus from the Stockroom.

I'm surprised to see this thread because I can't imagine anyone NOT making their own toys at some point in time.

Shop at your local Dollar store for an instant kit:

* Aluminum ruler
* Various grades of rope (I can make a flogger out of any decent length of rope in minutes)
* Various clamps
* A belt or two

Ta-da! $10 and you are ready to go.

As far as making your own toys, I have seen everything from DIY straight jackets, floggers and spreader bars which can all be made in a weekend of crafting.

A multi pack of cheap disposable wooden chop sticks and a hand full of rubber bands. Makes great nipple and clit clamps and a somewhat serviceable gag.

My favorite aisle at Home Depot (Home Despot) advertises: Rope and Chains, Screws, Lubricants, Tie Downs.

ETA. For Stella, you might look at the old wood closet hanger bars for spreader bars. They may be cheaper then large diameter dowels.

For those who posted the HD aisle pics. that's what I have. Just couldn't figure out how to post it here. Thank you both.

Well, this brought back some fond memories. I remember when my ex and I were dipping our toes into the water. He's pretty handy. So I was none too suprised to find he'd fashioned a surprisingly attractive flogger with nothing more than a couple old belts, cut into lengths, a nice sturdy dowel, and a leather string he used to tie his hair back when he was on the motorcycle. And he learned to tie a new know, the French Bowline. Just for me! Was that sweet, or what?

Wondering what ever happened to that old flogger?
