Hmm...when I go out, it's usually to drink and talk with friends. I flirt, dance occasionally, but it's mainly conversation that I go for. I went to my very first karaoke bar about a month ago, and it was fun! I didn't get up and sing, but it was nice to sing from my barstool, and watch others do it. It's been so long since I sang in public, I doubt that I could do more than squeek in front of a crowd, unless I was highly lubed....

Do you call your other persona Newman after the character on Seinfeld?

I love conversation just listening to people sharing ideas, debating topics big and small. Sharing information from the sublime to the mundane to the trivial it's how the world should interact with each other.

Well, maybe with some encouragement and a little liquid courage I could get you to sing a duet with me? My favorite duet is Paradise By The Dashboard Light. I know it seriously overdone and is horrible when it is done wrong, but I sing well and make a real production out of it.

And yes Newman is from Seinfeld.

The story behind the name comes from the bouncer at this bar I sing at on Fridays. We have become good friend and we sometime sing together, his name happens to be Terry. So, one Friday night I walk in, he looks at me and says "Hey you look like Newman." (I don't really, but he was drinking...) so I just played off of him and said "Hello... Terry" in that trademark Newman sneer. The folks at his table and that were paying attention all lost it and I've had the nickname Newman ever since. Eventually Newman just started forming into this seperate persona. I really have a fun time with it.
