The author Oedipus writes BBW stories (admittedly, the BBW his character lusts for is his mother, but that's another story...). We would be happy to create a section just for such stories, but we'd have to receive more of those submissions to make it worthwhile. So, start submitting!

Being a BBW myself, I am actually working on one right now. Be gentle with me, because this is the first time I'm actually going to submit my writing anywhere. I've been writing since I could pick up a pen, but been to shy to really get much feedback on it.

What story would qualify for a BBW category?
I am really not trying to be difficult here but the question just popped up in my head automatically as I thought of some of the stories where the main character was decidedly a woman of size and shape.
Jewel Tran for example wrote a few excellent romance series a few years ago. - Category: Romance
Most of Barbarian Queen's heroines are not of the fragile type either. - Category: BDSM
And so the list could go on and on.
My question is, if there ever should be a category for BBW stories, what type of stories would you put in there? Would a larger than size 8 heroine qualify a story for that section? Would the primary focus of the story have to evolve around the woman's size and the praise of voluptuous women? Would a story with a big cuddly man in it also qualify for the plus sized section?
I am asking mostly out of curiosity. I have a few ideas and would love to see such a section bloom on the site. It seems that on the bulletin boards, personals and AP forum included, BBW seem to be an active topic of discussion and in demand. I would be curious to know if there is also enthusiasm for stories on or involving this topic.

Separate category? Good question!
Lily, you bring up some thoughtful points. I'd hate to think of a person's size being consided "exclusive" enough to warrant it's own category. Could an alternative be a code such as the "H' used for homosexual content? I understand that some people are turned off by "generously proportioned" men and women and perhaps a code letter could eliminate dissatisfaction from those who'd rather not read stories with characters of average-or-greater physical dimensions.
I'd love to see more stories about real-looking people. Yeah, I know a very few gorgeous men and women who would meet Hollywood's current standards, but most of the people I know are just average - and beautiful. The thing about an average person is that lots of people can identify with him or her.

Since you gentlemen asked so nicely and I am more famous for my lively imagination than endurance, here are a few ideas for you to ponder. If there is anything that sparks your interest you are welcome to use and develop it.
The Plus Size Model: what, never heard of such a thing before? They surely do exist though. Not on at the fashion week in NYC perhaps but you can see them in commercials and catalogs all over the world. I would love to see a story about such a lady, perhaps even someone starting out on that career path. Perhaps a voluptuous girl next door unaware of her beauty until discovered by a male photographer. Could make for hot sex, perhaps some kinky play and also beautiful romance I think.
Revenge of the BBW: through high school she was looked down by the in crowd, ignored by the one boy she had yearned for most. The joke type small town high school hero who invited her to prom as part of a dog fight bet that exploded right into her face on what she believed to be the most beautiful evening of her life. The years pass by and through her brain and hard work she becomes a successful business woman. They meet again through their work, yet this time she is the one who becomes his boss and has the upper hand. Her scars are still carved into her memory deeply, he had long forgotten. Perhaps even his taste in women had changed and makes an honest move on her. Revenge could be so very sweet.
She is the painfully shy plus sized girl next door, short of dates probably more due to her shyness than looks she dwells in sexual frustration until a well meaning friend passes on a phone number to her. Phone sex for ladies as stress relief. One frustrated evening she thinks, why not and gives it a try. He is house sitting for a friend while he is visiting his family overseas. An unfamiliar ring tone draws his attention from under the couch. I think the problem with a BBW category is that most of the categories describe the type of sex being portrayed. Gay Male, BDSM, Anal, Erotic Horror. Certainly, there are categories about who is having sex, Loving Wives, Incest.
BBW could fit into any category. Putting BBW into a seperate category would be like having a category for blondes.
Having just submitted a story before reading a post, I quickly see an error I have made. I should have included BBW as a Tag to the story. Because of the interest, it would help those fans find my story easier.

I wonder what would happen if a story was submitted that featured group sex , voteurism, and crossdressing, that ran say 4 Lit pages, in the course of which there was one incestuoous grope, and one accidental brief anal insertion - where would it fit? Adding BBW issues just complicates it enough to explode my head. Both heads.

I'm working on a BBW story with another Litizen right now about a BBW who goes to a masseuse for a full body relaxation massage. Hope to finish it soon. The parts he has written really do something I couldn't do on my own.
I certainly don't think we need a separate category for BBW stories. If everyone would just remember to put a BBW in for one of their story tags when appropriate, then all anyone has to do is search for stories using "BBW." I've found quite a few nice ones here on Lit using that method.

I don't think we'd need a separate category. Tag lines would be good. If you do a BBW category then you should do a Cheating Wives category to clean up the Loving Wives one that the author's get flamed for. Then you do that then you'll be doing an African-American Category, Native-American, Spaniards, Italians,skinny chicks would need their own special place too.

I never have trouble putting myself in a story where I want to be the protagonist...but it makes it a little more challenging when the woman is described so specifically by height and weight. In that same way I find exact descriptions of men less than exciting - it's way more fun to fill in my own complete images with the knowledge that the observer (author) finds the character drop-dead gorgeous -- after all, that means something a little different for each of us!
