Working on the outline for my NaNoWriMo 50K word novel, going to make gawumkies Sunday, preparing to hold a dinner Sunday for many people to eat the Polish goodness!

I as well like making dinners for my friends to come eat, nothing better than great company and great food on a Sunday afternoon!

Polish stuffed cabbage. NOT cabbage rolls. NOT those things passed off as stuffed cabbage. With very little change - in the meat in the stuffing - the recipe I use is over 100 years, coming from Poland with my great-grandmother. I stuff cabbage leaves with a meat mixure, rice, onion, salt, pepper and an egg. I line a roasting pan with leaves, pack tightly the stuffed ones, cover with more leaves, add little water, cover, and put two burners on VERY LOW, steam for 3-4 hours. Serve with seeded Russian Rye...nummy

Wife invited her new redheaded friend to taste them. Son's bestie is coming over, she wants to learn how to make them "The right way." Her step-mom is Polish but bakes them, too lazy to steam them.

Ah, Awesome news about the redhead LoL ;)

They sound pretty tasty, i don't know any Polish people here..
I'd be game to try and make them tho, i love new foods.
 
I posted a brief intro on another BBW thread here, before realizing it was more a picture thread, not a chat thread. People said there was another BBW thread that was more for chatting, perhaps this is it?
