bbc have been doing a big read series where they decide the nations top 100 books ... they've done it really well in typical bbc style working with libraries and book shops you can buy all the top 100 books 3 for 2 for example they are also doing 30min dicussions on each book ... ruby wax's catcher in the rye was good last week

anyway heres the top 21 in no order because it hasn't been decided yet but what do you think of the list keep in mind these lists always are a bit odd because they are voted by the public on whats popular now (theres about 4 harry potters in the top 100)

how many have you actually read ?

I have a quirk. When I pick up a book, I read it from start to finish. Some of them take a lot longer than others depending on how much I can get into it.

My wife, if she doesn't like a book, she will stop reading it. It is hard to rate a book for me because I always seem to get something out of anything I read.

I read a lot so the chance of going back and reading any one of them is probably out of the question.
