According to a Singapore media:

On a media coverage tour organized by the Chinese authorities to the northwestern part of China, with the same people interviewed at the same venue, this reporter John Sudworth could have made a different report, making the organizer very unhappy.

The tussle between China and Western media over controversial issues has been a long one. Previously, both sides managed to coexist — most of the time — despite disagreements, but the situation today is more tense, largely because China sees negative reports by some Western media on Xinjiang as part of the US offensive against China.

On 31 March, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying was well prepared and cited many examples to refute the questions raised by the West, but there were few reports on those remarks, highlighting how China’s attempts to reason have little reach, while its “wolf-warrior” comments are usually blasted out far and wide. This is the reality that China faces. The same is true with the former US president Donald Trump, he has lost his floor when the account of Twitter was nullified.

The Chinese government cannot abide a free media reporting real facts - so they ban reporters.

They are lying to the world - and to their own people. And you can't confirm that they are lying because they won't let you see unbiased reporting. Sad.

I hate to say it, but you also just accurately described the bulk of our press corps...

The info was provided by a Singaporean media, please note that.

As you know, Singaporean government and people like a number of Chinese Americans are not friendly to the homeland of their early ancestors.

The media outlets in your country (most probably the US, if I do not guess wrong) are also profit-driven, and as the Chinese saying goes, there is no business in the world which does not pursue profits and for that purpose all business can do anything. Even the highest VIP Donald Trump called out "Fake news" so many times, that even most of us living the other side of the Pacific who do not know English have known this phrase. And who knows how much the poor people in the same country have been deceived by the same media? Be logical and objective, that is the proper way to have a discussion.

The BBC is NOT profit-driven. It is funded by a television licence.

But the BBC is not liked in China because it reports REAL news. Sad.

I think part of your words do make sense, but still I don't understand why you are so sure what it reports is real, there is always an exception, don't you agree?

It is possible China tells truth, despite the fact many people in western country don't like this country, or to be exact, the government of that country.

Yes, there is an exception - everything reported in China is approved by your government otherwise you wouldn't see it.

And the BBC is a non-profit making independent news organisation, so it is an exception too. The reporter had to leave because of threats and harassment by the Chinese state against him and his family. He was severely bullied.

China is a communist shit hole.

BBC is Big Black Cock, that is what I learn from this site and many other erotic sites, which is shocking to my uneducated mind that believes BBC is only Big Bad Child if it is not Big Ben Clock.

Mr. Philthy Phil, I guess you have retired from the porn film industry because each time when you greet or talk to other people, fuck is your pet word. If you still hold the dream to be a BBC, just do it, NIKE will sponsor you to realize your dirty dream.

I don't dare to fuck you, haha, I am so scared.

.
China???

That's the place where grown men clap on command; right???

Just like North Korea.

Just like a Trump rally.

Pathetic.

You seem to have intentionally mixed the facts and concepts. I agree you did make sense to some degree, but still you are far from being objective.

As a Chinese, I can easily get the local culture in which a man who is offensive to others definitely is subjected to cold treatment and pressure, and we call this practice "having you put on the smaller sized shoes than your feet". As a foreigner, you should follow the social customs "Do in Rome as Romans do" and you should feel blessed you can leave the country without any physical injury inflicted on.

Don't be so cynical. If you had such a big country with such a big population to handle, you would find that our practice is the most effective. Take a look at the current COVID pandenmic, hate crimes against Asians, Black Lives Matter, Mexican border control and Syrian refugees in Europe, and you will know the western governments have too many things to learn from communist China in terms of state governance.

China has a saying that goes, "In the world there are always talents, but each of these generations could lead the world by some time only". The world has witnessed the glories of Greece, Egypt, Rome, Arab, Turkey, Germany, Holland, Spain, Great Britain, USSR, USA, so when the time of China is coming, just accept it. Like in bed, you should give your partner the opportunities for doing 69 to have more fun.

...

As a BBC reporter, he is supposed to give the information freely and without bias. That is impossible in China if you do 'As in Rome' because locals are NOT allowed to speak freely. His task is made difficult - and now impossible, by Chinese state interference.

Emperor Xi is the Stalin of the 21st century. He will imprison, kill and obliterate all and every form of opposition to his personal power. To enable and justify this, he will wrap himself in a cloak of confected Nationalism. His cronies in the CCP and PLA will be paid off with gifts and privileges; individuality will be stamped out at all costs.

China will come to hate him and everything he stands for, but it will be too late; he will likely die in office and it will be the next generation which will condemn his crimes.

The western medias and the government of China are both telling half truths. If you believe complete unbiased medias exist, you are too naive.

Things I like:
Chinese food
Chinese women
Mulan
Chinese checkers
The fact they have a dynasty named after a Flash Gordon villain. Yes Gordon was first cuz its more fun that way.
Chinese movies

I can forgive a lot for the Ming thing alone.
Their national anthem should be the Queen song.
China aaaaah! Savior of the universe!

Perhaps BBC has let you down or you have overestimated it, take a look at this video which is about the talk between a BBC reporter and a leader of a country that is not China. So it is a thing done by third parties, if there is any problem, it is their problem.

You are a very honest and clear-minded adult in this forum at least.
