Ok everyone I really did not know which category to put this in so I choose this one because, it sounded like the right section. So I am trying to get everyone's opinion, who in your mind makes the better author when it comes to writing erotica Men or Women, and why? or it just depends on the person?

Probably male readers prefer male-written erotica and female readers prefer female-written erotica. And that's not 100% preference, maybe more like 70%.

Understand that half the female writers around here are male, and half the male writers around here are female and many of both around here can become either, and one begins to understand that such statistics aren't going to aid you much in answering your question.

Sorry.

My opinion

The mind makes what the author writes. I vote 3rd person Omniscient, but sunandshadow is on it.

Personally it doesn't register on me at all, whether it's written by a female or a male.

I don't really care one way or another. If the story is good, that's all that matters. I've read female and male writers, edited for both genders, and helped coach both genders as well. I also don't see one gender better than the other. It really all boils down to the content of the story.

I think it depends on the quality of the writer, the subject matter, and the reader's frame of mind/reference at the time.

:)

I think, perhaps, the gender of the author doesn't matter quite as much as the quality of either (both?) the characters or the plot matching what the reader is looking for.

I think it is important to clarify if you are referring to the gender of the author or the gender of the narrator. I think the gender of the author doesn't really matter. The gender of the narrator of the story is more important to the reader. I think they can more relate to their own gender and so men will prefer to read male narrated stories and women, female narrated stories. That is not to say that a female author cannot write a very good male narrated story or vice versa.
