how in the hell do you get your avatar to show up?

I put up a profile picture, and i went to the main lit members page, and uploaded a pic to there....but how in the hell do you get to be cool and have the lil picture on the forum to show up under your name? and whyyy cant i figure it out

Just an FYI: Most of the basics, and some not-so-basics, are covered in our FAQ sticky. I'd suggest taking a moment to browse the topics in there, and The Blank Manual sticky (both are perpetually "stuck" at the top of the main How To forum page if you lose the links), so you have an idea where you can go if you have a quick question, which topics have already been covered a lot, etc.

I'm mostly a lurker, I can't imagine getting 64 posts but I guess I will have to start replying more if I want my picture seen...

You can post a pic in your profile now, if you want. Or put an avatar-sized pic in your signature for now; some people won't see it, but plenty who still have sigs turned on will. Just don't go overboard with the size or content if you go the sig route; it's always better to err on the tasteful side of things.

And if you're not concerned with the quality of your posts, there are plenty of "game" threads in the Playground you can use to increase your post count in no time at all.

If you are concerned with quality, you'll probably find plenty of threads you can participate in if you just take a look around the different forums.

you can go to the Playground and there are endless threads where it is easy to get your count up. For example: What are you listening to...what are you drinking...words that start with a,b,c,d....or rhyme with...ect.
