I am sorry to report that barebear was fatally wounded last nite, his living, beating heart savagely ripped from his chest....he will never EVER return to Lit....this is his last post....

Please do not reply to this thread....for any of my friends here... goodbye, it has been a pleasure knowing you all....

let this thread quickly slip off the bottom of the board....

goodbye forever...

1 down, many other to go.

He was easy prey... lasted about 2 months. Hmmm.. wonder who has the pleasure of having a bear rug infront of the fireplace now :D

Halo :rose:

Well, I certainly hope not. All people have feelings, and laughing at them hurts those feelings. :(

Bare,

I'm sorry about this. It's gotta be difficult.

You still have lots of friends over here, you know where to find us. There are literally millions of other smart, sexy women out there just waiting for you to say hello to them. We're glad for your company and enjoy your posts. Hope to see you again.

Good luck friend.

Well, I was just getting to know ya, bare, and, the jaded posts aside, you will be missed. Unfortunately, broken hearts are a large part of life and love on the internet as well as off of it.

Laudable sentiment, FP. The passage of time tends to lend perspective to departures here. Those who want to be talked out of it always post... there's a pattern which begins to emerge.

It amounts to a correlation between how much noise the departing person makes and how likely they are to either stay or be back soon. Posting is tantamount to a plea for attention, which is what keeps us here, eh?

You're right, it's unfortunate when somebody hurts, and not very nice to make light of it.

Those who really leave just do so, not alert the rest of the world. They slip off quietly, they don't have an urge to draw attention to it or get in the last word. You pretty much can't end a net conversation by saying "do not reply to this thread" or "This is The Last Word on the topic."

The early pages of the "Getting in the last word" thread discussed such phenomena; I concede it's drifted a bit since then...
