The short of it: Barbara Walters named Amal Clooney "the Most Fascinating Person of 2014."

Why?

Not because of her accomplishments as a human rights lawyer or the fact that she's worked with Kofi Annan and other world leaders

but because




wait for it

“You could say hers was the wedding of the year, but let’s put it into perspective,” Walters said. Getting Clooney to the altar “was really one of the greatest achievements in human history.”

Talk about completely reduce an accomplished lawyer down to being the woman who roped in George Clooney. Implying that Amal Clooney was nothing before she married this actor? Really?

Damn. When a men's rights activist calls you out, Barbara Walters, you have truly split the atom of misogyny.
