This year I have had two stories turned down. One was described as beastiality and, I must admit, there was a form of that there. The other was said to be too violent and brutal, and it certainly was that. I have never heard of a post being banned, though. I'm not sure it could even be done, although I suppose it could be.l

(2) There is a possibility that activating a moderator might not only get the post redacted, but also the poster deactivated — decertified — defrocked!

(Except when at my place of employment, being defrocked would undoubtedly lead to some additional, nasty repercussions.)

No, when I referred to posts being banned, I was referring to posts to threads, like this one. I think I could say anything I wanted and it would be posted but it might be later removed. Well, I don't know..

I said it (the script language) had, I thought, interacted badly with my browser. Because one of the functions stopped functioning, nothing really earth-shattering, just an annoyance.

Where they are changed, I'd scarcely call it redaction, at least in most cases.

There are deletions of advertising links, email addys, and some personal info.

That hardly affects the content of what is said. As to content, I can think of only couple things: directions how to fuck up the forum with a virus-laden story; directions how to take out the pentagon with a home made suitcase-style, A bomb.

In fact, few, if any, persons are ever banned, and I don't know of any being 'defrocked', if that means 'exposed' (unless they turn up in court for sex crimes solicited through literotica chats.)

Moderators (in moderated areas) have greater powers to remove flames and off topic posts, or shut down a thread, but I've seen few actually removed. But moderators can be avoided.

Story content is another matter, and apparently 1)beasts, 2)children, and 3)over the top brutality--especially if crudely and obviously done-- will result in a story not being accepted. (But the most common reason is incoherence or illiterate presentation.)

Out of curiousity, what do you mean by that last line? I have one story that involves a unicorn and a woman and I thought it might be banned as beastiality, but it was accepted.
