Baldurs Gate 3!

*Looks around sheepishly, noting I am still waading through games with release dates circa 2016 ... and sighs.*

But seriously, I enjoyed Divinity: Orignal Sin from Larian Studios. Excellent game, and the same style of play as the BG series. I should catch up and get to BG3 in about ... seven years. I was glad to see it doing well.

But i'm really just in it for the landscapes, the Aurorae, Akatosh, dungeon crawling and watching Serana's bum
Serana's all right but Lydia's where it's at: loyal, capable, and brawny enough to wrap you like a blanket on cold winter nights.

Looks like I'm way late to the party.

Got the game and as someone who played the shiiiiiiiit out of the old games (including Planescape: Torment and the oft maligned Icewind Dale titles) I'm in nerd heaven. 5e is a fantastic skeleton for mechanics, but the characters totally steal the show. Too bad my rig is juuuust barely able to run BG3. Load times are epics of their own and in big battles the PC cries for help.

So it's either sell another kidney for a beefier PC, wait until the Xbox version materializes or struggle on.

Too late? The threads just over 12 hours old.

I've just finished God of War: Ragnarok, so I might check out this for the PS5.

Yeah, looks like I'm a little way above the advertised minimum specs, but whether games are actually playable at supposed minimum specs is hit-and-miss IME. I ended up abandoning Torment: ToN when it started grinding to a halt every time I hit combat, running on a machine that should've been able to handle it :-/

I'm 20 hours in and I say it's worth selling a kidney for 😅

My wife started this yesterday. She was a little surprised by the labia and penis character creation options.

When did that become a thing in video games?

I've now finished the main quest (challenging, but not nearly as much as I expected) and several of the remaining side quests in Hogwarts Legacy (now 85% overall), so I checked out the platform requirements for Baldur's Gate 3. I'm not sure if my current PC will be able to handle it and have a PS4 instead of a 5, so it will be a while before I get to try it. Of course, since I still have the second half of BG1 and all of BG2 to do, it would have been a while anyway, but probably not quite as long. <DD* voice>Drat and double drat!</DD voice>

My companions may or may not hang out at camp in their birthday suits very often. I'm a big fan of video games that let you customize your genitalia.

Stop it already!

Been waiting ages for the full release then find my dammed graphics card is one below the minimum spec. Will be upgrading in Sept, and BG3 is the first purchase.

I mean 174 hours of cutscenes - that's like nearly 10 seasons of Blackist!

Played all Larian's output and loved it so cannot wait. Haven't felt this excited since Fallout 4.

Hope it is better than Fallout 4.

It is better than Fallout 4, isn't it?

Please?
