Well, folks - its the second year in a row I've been uninvited to christmas by my grandparents! Why? Oh - just because I have an odd fascination with Ritual Magick... AND because last Thanksgiving, I ridiculed an aunt for shoving religion on myself, my brother, and my oldest cousin, and claiming that Procter and Gamble was a satanic organization...

Microsoft I would have believed - but P&G? <shakes head>

They didn't even have the balls to confront me about it... my grandparents went behind our backs to an aunt that WASN'T EVEN THERE who was also sickly (probably thinking that we would bow down to her just because she's on her last legs - didn't work, btw). She then went to MY MOTHER and told her that she needed to correct her two ADULT SONS for having an opinion...

So now, I hate Christmas!

THIS thread is the offical gripping thread for all us grinches out there... I know not everyone wants to hear us moan and groan about the attitudes that people get, the god damn sermons we all have to endure, or the commericalization of something that was SUPPOSE to be holy... So lets set us up one little thread for our rants and leave the Mary Poppen's of the world be.

Who's With Me?

Why hate Christmas?

As a religious thing it means nothing to me.

When I worked I enjoyed the holiday.

I don't work now so I just enjoy the parties etc.

As a famous man once said,"What! me worry?.

I'll join

I am not into religion, so leave me out of that!

But I do find it much to commercialised and expensive
The shops are full, can't park, crowds everywhere.

Basically though, I find it lonely, makes me sad.

That's my 2 cents worth anyway

BahHumBug Too

I agree....I'm not religious so for me, it's always been about family...but if I have to endure one more packed parking lot, one more person shoving, one more person bitching at the stores, I'm going to f*&%ing scream! At this point, I just want it over. It's all about the kids, mine is 20. If I could just convince him to believe in Santa again, it would be a blast, until then, I would like to hibernated until 12/26.

Relatives

Dear Bird: I was raised in a very religious family; my dad was a minister. Religious people can be intolerant. Been there; done that; ran away as fast as I could when I realized what an @%#hole one can be. Separate the religious from the religion. Christmas is a time to love those around you (and yourself). I am wishing you a magnificent holiday season;)
