*Waves hello*

Maybe you've seen me around these forums already, but if not, I shall formally introduce myself. The name's OutshinedOne, and I registered here a scant few days ago. It's been a pleasure to meet you all recently!

However, I've noticed something around here. There are a number of threads on these forums with an unbelievable number of pages. It seems almost daunting to me to try and jump into some of these threads and make my presence known because they've been so firmly established, you know? I feel like it's going to be hard for me to get to know many of you and vice versa. Plus, I would like to become more involved in these forums as time goes on!

So, maybe you're curious about me. Maybe you're looking for some one to chat with. Or maybe you clicked on this thread thinking that there were new members that just joined by the name of Badger (your loss!). Either way, I decided to whip this thread up as my way of saying hi to everyone and letting you get to know me! :) Also, I figured it might be nice for some other new members to get their feet wet and introduce themselves...but who knows?

So, feel free to drop in and say hi. Ask questions. Converse! I'm always up for new ways of getting to know people.

Cheers everyone! Here's hoping for some fun times on this board!

Not a good idea to "wave"...but welcome. It's hard to get a connection on any of these threads when you are a noob. I've been trying for a couple of days. I've started a couple of threads with out much luck. I started one in the AmPics earlier this evening and am disapointed in the response. Great pics. Don't get it. Seems like you have to have over a 1,000 posts before anyone notices you.

Eh, I've been on enough forums in my internet lifetime to understand how things work. Sometimes you gotta stick your head out in order to get noticed.

Granted, people will take the opportunity to chop your head off, but you gotta take a risk, especially when you're online and the consequences and rejection don't seem so personal, ya know?

So how are you doing this fine evening?

Welcome to Lit. OutshinedOne. There's so much offered here I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself.

The never-ending threads can look daunting and many have said they feel like they're walking into the middle of a conversation -- well, it is sort of like that but most everyone is welcoming and friendly. Feel free to jump in, it's worth the risk.

Glad you've introduced yourself, it's nice to have you here. :rose:

Oh, I've been stickin' my head in.

Wife is out of town with the kids. Getting a little bored around the house and she isn't back for a couple of more days.

Welcome to you too skeaky, even though you've been here a while now. Good for you about making threads. Some fly, some don't. No harm, no foul about making them. Sometimes it's really fun to make a thread knowing it has a limited lifetime... enjoy it, talk about whatever it is, then make another for another topic.

Thanks for the welcoming...just trying to stay entertained for awhile

Thank you Cathleen! :)

Ah, just use the time you have to relax and enjoy time to yourself skeaky! You might miss your wife and kids, but it's also nice just to have the place to yourself without having to get worried about family issues or anything along those lines.

It's been a week already. I haven't had this much time to myself since I was a kid....Not easy on an old man's sex drive either.

Can't say I blame you, in that case. I can't exactly empathize with you on some fronts since I'm in my early 20s and have no children that I'm aware of, but having that long of a period of time to yourself gets to be impressively tedious after awhile.

Luckily I have a pretty special collection of her nudes to hold me over. Finally getting some respone on my AmPic thread. Make me miss her in a special way.

Welcome to lit guys. It is hard to jump in, but the playground is the perfect place to do so. Everyone here is very friendly - esp. the night crew. The restless have to stick together. Enjoy.

And you are quite lucky to have her as your wife, if I may say so!

Edit: Thanks Breezy!

Me too - I get by on 2-3 hrs sleep per night. This is a fun way to spend the wee hours. :)

It's better than watching back to back coverage of the shopping channel

I can't bring myself to fall asleep before midnight ever since going to college. I've only ever done that when sick or just incredibly exhausted. Usually that just ends up with me sleeping until 3, then tossing and turning for the rest of the night. Yech.

However, I made sure my schedule this semester had the earliest classes at 11 AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays. That works quite nicely, in my opinion. :D

Madison or Chicago... can't make up your mind? :D

College my dear. :)

I'm at home in Chicago at the moment (on Spring Break), but I go to school up at UW-Madison.

I ussually watch the history channel or something like it till 3:00 or so...sleep till 6:30 and back at it...Sometimes I take a nap but the kids usually ruin it for me
